japanese said "going to war because of no oil and lose the war because of no oil". I read from the forum that some players move fuel overland to fusan. but what is the efficiency?

save scene001 to something else and edit:
set all bases on the main way from singapore to fusan to japan and assign units, clear all allied units on the way, set all ports fuel to 0 except singapore. set singapore gain 20k/day fuel. set bankok, haiphong, tientsn, port Arthur and fusan to SPS + 3. set all near TF to "do not refuel"
notice refinaries in Manchukuo produces a little fuel.
road effeciency:
sgp	bankok	haihong	tientsn Arthur fusan shanghai
	100	53	19
		100	66	19 8 18
			100	51 40 32 50
--------------------------------------------------------
07/12	126900	0	0	0 0 0
08/12	142682	180	0	0 uncheck	+(1-2k/day)
09/12	133945	21022	0	0 2120 TK TF1 loading
10/12	153705	21122	0	0 3160 1k TF1 stop loading and cs to japan
set a TF home port to bankok rasing need to 10-20k
11/12	114841	58062	27126	18806 9465 6223 TK TF2 start load
	remove the TF from bankok
12/12	1347901	57416	27126	15509 10362 4033 + 6075
13/12	154289	10684	27382	14644 10362 1782 + 10010
14/12	167897	8959	31772	21851 10640 8240 + 11674
15/12	168981	9059	31772	18939 10362 5694 + 17994
	add shanghai and start loading
16/12	193800	8999	28893	14644 10362 9354 + 25812	10376
17/12	213660	9099	28893	14604 10363 7297 + 31917	2416 + 9369
18/12	226552	9093	23920	18797 10639 7496 + 36071	8445 + 11489
close refinery of port Arthur, start loading from tientsn and port Arthur
19/12	246412	9013	23920	4+18k 10363 4045 + 40333	1046 + 18904
20/12	265929	9169	21387	2177+21770	2968+8438	4297+42721	3746 + 19818
21/12	275055	8877	18162	1293+23828	2285+10853	3329+45762	1573+23104
we can see here drawing from haiphong is the key problem.
22/12	294915	8977	18162	1010+25048	2226+12711	1404+48132	139+24482
add more port CS convoy seems no help, they are all nearly drained
23/12	314264
27/12	382838
----------------------------------------------------------

Go back to 18/12, TKs assigned to bankok and haiphong, starting loading. set home port for many ships to those ports.
19/12 246412 2186 828 19984 10364 4257 1046
fuel rushed into bankok after rising fuel need.
20/12 187186 92608 27007 19944 10363 5974 95
fuel need for fusan is now 22k, shanghai 15k but still did not see much moving to there.
22/12 174756
23/12 156315
24/12 176175
25/12 175801
26/12 195661
unload fuel at tientsn and haiphong
27/12 shanghai got 36k+ but fusan still quiet.
28/12 finally fusan saw moving in 35k+

result: with this strategy, you need to manage the fuel need at those ports constantly.
any suggestions?

Search for "Magic Highway" and it will explain it to you. It has been posted about in a few locations.

Kudos for the amount of work done! Been there, done that, it is hard and time consuming

Couple suggestions on scenario modification for a cleaner test:
1. You need to shut off alternative fuel sources like Rangoon or Urumchi, as well as consumers like HI. Just shut down all HI and Ref everywhere.
2. Include total fuel in the table as a column.
3. What seems to work best is not SPS+3 buildup everywhere but having a progression in port sizes throughout so that Thai-China part of the route had a natural draw along the line through larger ports pulling out of the smaller. E.g. CRB at 6, Haiphong at 7, HK at 8. Of course even better is to ship from Singers to CRB and go overland from there to Fusan, but that's not the "magic highway" technically

thank you for your advice.

for 1. Rangoon or Urumchi are still under control of Allied. the only fuel source is port arthur which is little did not affect much.
2. I will do better next time, I can not even understand by myself now.
3. all port are set to SPS+3 which I already stated (maybe not in a significant place). but the effect is still not very good so I have to raise massive fuel need by assign TFs home to these ports. but it will need constant management.

it really is time consuming. even I have reduced the map to the smallest size. I lost passion retest it.
Obviously the developer does not want player to go this trick.

Yep it is and yep it will. In my games I only made reasonable volume of fuel to go overland from Singers by temporarily assigning my CV/BB TFs to CRB simultaneously with stockpiling further bases in the chain to prevent backdraw. It generated about 100-150к accumulation in a couple turns. Constant loading of tankers in CRB did not help much compared to that.

The best click free liquids logistics seems to be Singers->CRB coupled with progressive port sizes up to Shanghai, and a tanker-load draw in Fusan. I still ran Shanghai->HI liquids though cause Fusan was too busy a place

This would be because it was impossible in reality. This "magic highway" fantasy is possible in the game by manipulating the game mechanics beyond the design. With that being said, I would have no problem with an opponent using this trick to their advantage in a game. It is a game, after all. But, please don't complain that it's "hard" to perform this trick of manipulating the game mechanics.

You need to increase the fuel need at Fusan, and also start loading up a bunch of fuel there. If there is one key ingredient (aside from having an overland route), that is it.
