Hi all
Bought wite previously but never got the momentum up despite being an experienced tabletop gamer inc some medium war games.
Decided to try again with wite2 and wanted a clear step by step guide whilst I await the manual (tome).
Can anyone recommend on a good “to do list to start fresh on this, for instance
- play the tutorial scenario
- read chapters x and y
- look at the following online tutorials
Etc etc
Thanks in advance
G

1. Read the one page guides.

2. Play the tutorial scenario along with the section in the manual that steps you through it.

3. There are some decent videos on line - or so I have been told - view those and get a feel for it

4. Play the tutorial scenario again without looking at the manual

5. Skim the manual - especially the ground sections - you can leave the Air and the Logistics to the AI sub-tools that will handle that for you

6. Play Road to Minsk until you can win

7. Skim the manual again to pick up what you have questions for

8. Play Road to Leningrad and see if you can replace the Logistics and Air AI by yourself

9. But above all else have fun!

What did help me has been to watch on YouTube War in the East 2 Tutorials.
The Tutorials from Strategy Gaming Dojo are really helpful for me.

Also reading the AAR and topics in the forum do help. And there is also the wonderful War in the East 2 Manual.
The forum community is really friendly and helpful too, so that questions can be asked.

If you try to read all the manual or watch videos all at once you will quickly become overwhelmed.

Print out the 1-pagers.

Play the tutorial first - following the manual's steps. It's a very good, simple guide.

You'll feel confident.

Start tutorial 2 which has no guidance. Have your confidence wiped away. Now lean on the manual and videos to fill in your blanks. But still play the game, moving units is easy - so are mistakes. That's part of learning.

I'm also new to the game and this is how I'm picking it up.
