Not in order but works just the same :)

Plus Vilnius didn't seem that bad on losses on the Soviets. The question is, "Is this worth it"?

For night bombing, the results are maybe a bit too much? But I really like the fact that you actually have to cover your railyards and depots with AA and perhaps LW air superiority. Not sure how effective night missions are to prevent those bomber incursions?

There seems to be a display bug there btw, if the bombing run hits "unintended" target, the damage percentage doesn't seem to show correctly?

Also there seems to be some kind of repair phase at some point of the week that I can't find documented in the manual, here's my railyard damage results on bombing Riga:
Day 2:
0% => 66%
Day 4:
66% missed the railyards, but manpower & port damage got higher
Day 6:
39% failed run
Day 7:
39% failed run

Stationing a squadron on the railyard seems to prevent at least partly the bombing runs, also having some AA there is second line of defense. But still occasionally even SB-2 are really effective, 12 SB-2 did 66% damage to Riga railyard after passing a swarm of Bf-109...

RE: 1st Para; The only effective means is stationing AA at each of the rail yard junctions you want to protect. I will fly the 4 plane German Fighter squadron as intercept along with the BF-110s. I tested this in my current WITE2 game with 821Bobo here https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4988004 If you go back to 2018 in the WITE1 form you can find an AAR that brought this same material up under the name VERNICHTUNGSKRIEG!!! name in that forum. The same exact scenario existed back in 2018 that exist today only exemplified by the addition of rail yards.

RE: 3rd Para; There is a repair phase. The system will auto place construction workers to repair the site along with you can assign workers too. You can also emergency repair. So far the damage hasn't been catastrophic on most of the rail yards in both of the games except for 2 cities.

I kind of like the Soviets burning up "pilots" in these bombing runs to be honest. It is helping my purpose of keeping the pilot kills high.

In the South it looks like you may have encircled basically as many divisions as in the other game, despite not going for a direct turn 1 encirclement this game? Do you think there is anything the Soviets could have done to avoid that (possible to retreat more on turn 1???)? Could they have railed more units back or transferred some of them to reserves?

The Soviets have a hard time in the Lvov area on turn 1. All of the mechanized and tank units are placed on reserve and they will frequently activate. This costs them MPs for turn 1. You also lose MPs on the defense. Then your logistics phase hits and only a single rail line can supply everyone in that area and it uses most of its capacity for that. So you have few MPs to move to a rail line and little rail capacity to use to get them out of the future pocket. You can usually only get a few divisions (maybe four or five depending on their type and size) out of there before the rail capacity is used up and you get stuck anyways.

But AFAIK it doesn't take rail capacity to send troops to the national reserve (or disband them, if that is allowed), or does it?

Oh, this could get interesting quick. I have found the Germans are pretty accurate on telling if a counter is in a hex. So definitely can get interesting if no hidden units out there. 4th Panzer looks like it is going to hit a wall coming up on the Narva.

Have some decent MP's on two of my units. Most in the mid 30's to mid 40's around Pskov area.

Turn 3

After Air Execution

I want these two Soviet Airfields to bring up my fighters. Serious lack of Airfields for my fighters at the moment. Once taken I will transfer in a BF109 squadron then do a resupply(not a supply drop). Then bring in another and do a resupply. Will bring in a recon squadron if I have to then resupply. That way I get the fighters close to the front and in supply.

They need to be on a working rail network with SMP available and not too close to an enemy unit. Not every unit at the beginning will meet that criteria.
