I started playing the Stalingrad to Berlin and noticed something odd (at least to me). Two of the fronts are different from the other fronts. The front and attached armies are the same color. But all the other fronts like the the Western front all its attached armies have a different color?

If you mean the box in the centre of the NATO symbol, that's to help identify different organizations. Each Front (or Army on the Azis side) should have their own colour.

If you mean the base counter is a different colour, likely red and brown, that is to tell Guards and regular Red Army apart. The Siberian troops may have a different colout too (haven't got to the winter in this game to find out). On the Axis side the different nationalities each have their own colour, and the SS. The SS is the traditional black, the Wehrmacht the traditional grey, Rumanians are dark green, and so on.

The Guards armies are groups that have performed well and so awarded Guards status as recognition, I think they got better equipment and supply. They aren't necessarily any better troops though.

if you want to revert to the uniform colours then select the front HQ and select colour and then pick whatever you want (or reset all to default)

that will recreate the usual pattern of all the subordinate formations having the same colour scheme.

If I recall, this approach was taken for Western Front etc as it helps with formation recognition in the Red God of War scenario, but I much prefer the usual set up of a single colour for each front.

You can use this to create all sorts of interesting on map colour schemes

I find this tool incredibly useful to minimize cross-HQ penalizations on combat... I try to put all armies on a front in different shades/tones of the color front (all cops on tones of the army color for axis) and it saves loads of time/mistakes for me, Used in wite1 too and now is much more easy as you do not need to have an RGB table to help with the numbers

This is "semi" true. IF you were able to do individual units THEN you could have a "very" interesting color scheme! Seriously all kidding aside really need to be able to do individual units with color. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
