Well it begins again... Seems like a little more of the same old bad luck that I have been dragging around for a while. The American 175th INF reinforced with elements of the 21st ENG have launched a rubber boat assault in our northern sector vicinity of the Destroyed railroad bridge. We have scarecly any troops manning the river bank, but those that are there took full advantage of the American vulnerability in their rubber rafts. A single squad has almost turned back the assault south of the damaged railroad bridge, while North of the bridge the American has managed to reach the shore. I have one 81mm mortar in contact, and prep him to start firing on the landing side of the river. The rest of my indirect fire assets are nowhere to be found!! We could have made this assault extremely painful to the American if only our arty was available, or we had been manning the river bank in greater force. Maybe Arty problems plague both sides, as the American assaults the river without cover of smoke. A minor barrage of smoke starts to fall near the center of the map, as my turn comes to an end, but maybe this is only a diversion for the assault on the north sector. A couple more well placed machine guns and B & C Companies of the 175th would be swimming with the fishes!!
