This question is perhaps very silly and is not related only to CMO, but to the functioning of the forum in general.
How does the "search" work?
For example, if I am in the "Tech support" section and want to search for a term, I enter the word in the "search" field and go. But, often I don't get any results, even if surely the search term is present.
What am I doing wrong ?
And also, if I want to search for a topic or a more complex argument, do I have to use a sentence, putting AND / OR between one word and another? With a space between words or without a space? This also seems to me not to work.
As an example, I join the screen with the result of the search for the word "altitude", which is certainly present in the threads (at least in the first, posted by "tiag"). The result is negative !? Why.
Thanks, Steve.

Search has been broken for a long time. I'll enter a word that I know should return a specific thread or post and it won't find it. For some reason it does not return complete results and the results it returns seem random.

This may sound silly, but an effective method I use is to go to Google Search and search with site:www.matrixgames.com/forums "[search term]" . Usually works pretty well.

Ah, ok now I understand ...
This is a real shame, because you risk opening a discussion on a topic that has already been dealt with ...

This is a great tip. In fact, I had already tried some with Google search ... and you are confirming that this may be the right way, for the moment ..., thanks Dimitris.

I use that now and then. The main drawback is if you are searching a term not unique or more associated with CMO, you have to sort through a lot of returns from other matrix forums. Unless there is a way to localize the search from google.

And I agree that its a shame. There is a wealth of info from the last seven years that have basically disappeared into the ether.

There are ways to work around some of the drawbacks if you have been doing it a while. But they are intuitive and require having some fleeting memory of past discussions.
