I am away from the computer at the moment but I can upload it when I get home later tonight if no-one does it in the meantime.

If you really don't want to wait please go to the mods section of WitE 1 and you should find it there (I think it is pinned to the top of the page)

Numerous items have changed over WitE1 so you will get several mismatches

as Denniss said be a wee bit careful. There is new stuff in #2 that was not in #1 and its possible that some model slots were re-purposed so you may get odd over-writes.

I'd suggest some one who knows the mod does a double check just in case.

Now its not going to break anything (I think) but it could be a bit frustrating

Don t think it will brake the game, it only changes the pictures ( worst thing tiger 1 could look like panzerIi) I looked around and it looks right and the new things I saw they keep the old pictures

I tested COREd Wite 1.2 with WitE2 and have to say that there are a lot of problems f.e. with the Soviet units, plane pics do not match, other typs of units are not correct too. German unit pics seems to be matching mostly fine.

There are a lot of leader pics missing too.

I hope talented and history professionals will look into a mod for unit and leader pics sometime. Would be great at all!

I hope that too. The original images of the game are of very poor quality, they are blurry and pixelated

It looks like a 'design' choice where someone has deliberately softened the images. It's pretty bad. I wonder if it's something to do with licencing.

Anyway, an updated version of this mod would indeed be a welcome addition.

Look who's back...

Just have a little patience, as I am remapping my old COREd WitE imagery, filling in the gaps and adding replacement imagery to adjust for changes in the model line-up. I am wrapping up the Axis model line-up at this very moment.

Actually I was pleasantly surprised to find this thread here, with the game having been released only for a couple of weeks... So apparently there still is an audience that welcomes my efforts. I haven't checked the forums in years, as my daytime job well and truly got in the way, which also ended my active contribution to WitE2 development. Having changed jobs since, finding WitE2 released I kind of found the modding bug kicking in once again, especially as a lot of the original work for WitE could be reused.

As to the actual imagery itself it's definitely a design choice, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is due to possible copyright infringement and/or laws preventing Nazi symbols being used. I even offered to incorporate my original WitE imagery into WitE2, but it was turned down. The biggest shame of that design choice, methinks, is that it negates a lot of the research that went into finding the imagery for the official game. The imagery itself might be highly blurred, the accuracy of the imagery is of a really high standard. And that's coming from someone who is actively trying to find matching imagery, with a high standard as well.
