Hello everyone.

I have a question, if it has been answered already or in manual Id be very thankful if someone can point me in the right direction, but I wasnt able to find it.

I have an issue with some subs disbanding when returning from their patrols and I cant figure out why. Port can definitely rearm them and it has more than enough fuel. Could it be because of damage? Though I havent noticed any major damage on disbanded subs. It gets really annoying reseting zones for that many subs

Yes

I think this is still the case:

Read the whole thread

Subs will terminate patrol for repair under two sets of conditions:
1. A sub will terminate patrol EARLY if any damage component reaches 25.

2. A sub that has returned for fuel or ammo reasons will terminate patrol and disband if any damage component exceeds 10.

Subs that disband are left in readiness repair. The player will have to select any other repair options.

And subs repair pretty quickly so when you checked on them they may have looked to be in pretty good nick but maybe not so much when they first came in.

Here are a few thoughts for you…

I do spend thermal time with my subs and get normally great results. It does take time and effort though.

And the ship screen go ahead and display only subs. if you first sort by location it will tell you any subs that are disbanded and you can either put them back on patrol or do repairs. and then sort by system damage. and he said that exceeds 10 in system damage or any other damage of 10 or greater normally send back for repair. I have found that if I keep it at this level when they go in for repair it is normally very short. It seems that it is a curve the greater the damage exponentially the greater it takes to do the repair to the damage.

Find those sweet spots for patrols and make sure you use three point leg on the combat patrol.

Keep the AS ships as far forward as you can to keep the transit back-and-forth to the patrol zones as short as possible. The ships not only re-arm torpedoes but also fix minor repair. push in AR ship to a Ford base that will not receive much activity from your enemy. A possible example of this would be Darwin if you hold or can get that bass. It becomes a major subbase for me as it opens up access to quick patrol zones in his high wheel area.

Hope these help.

Hey, sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. Thats pretty much what I have been doing, I have set up Adak and Midway as bases for HI, Brisbane for SWPAC (may move to Guadalcanal shortly) and Darwin for DEI. Those Dutch subs sure have some teeth, I have bagged bunch of TKs already pulling fuel out of Java, Sumatra and Borneo.

Anyways thanks for the tips
