Howdy folks, I’m relatively new here, so sorry if I’m asking something that has been previously addressed. I have two questions. I’ve read through most of the manual, but I can’t find anything relating to these, so here goes. 1. In the manual, in New Unit Types, it mentions "captured tanks" and "captured SPguns" but does not elaborate. Is it possible to capture abandoned enemy equipment and reflag it for my use? If so, how? If not, could this be a future feature? How about moving an engineer squad into the abandoned vehicle hex, have an option to destroy or repair the equipment, hold them there for a few turns (to repair damage) then reflag the unit to my colors. Then I guess we’ll have to figure out how to get these guys the ammo they need . . . 2. Somewhat related to this, what do I do with stragglers\survivors? Can I move them back to HQ, then combine enough stragglers to form effective units? Or how about using knocked-out tank survivors to man the previously mentioned captured equipment? Right now, I usually have my tank crew survivors climb aboard other tanks in their squad and ride along so I can use their smoke grenades, or have them do suicide missions to try to knock out enemy armor. I’d like to somehow make better use of these poor guys. Any thoughts would be welcome. O. Bradley

Hello 1: These 'captured' units indeed appear in some OOB's. But they mean equipment that was captured earlier, repaired, tested and with a trained crew. The capturing & use of enemy units during one scenario's length is considered bit unrealistic...while your troops might be able to use an AT-gun to a some degree, they would have *very* hard time operating strange tank..that might actually have all instrument texts written with unfamiliar alphabets. 2: Welll...combining stragglers into one unit may be something the AI would never 'understand' to do...and it's a bit hard to make an effective unit out of bunch of stragglers that have just been barely escaped with their lives from a burning tank or like... If you are only playing a single scenario, then you have already figured out the best use of the crews. But if you're playing a campaign, protect those bailed out tankers! In a campaign your crews gain experience with each action and they keep all or most of that experience in future battles.
