Smolensk (Real time update)

PZ's are all over 42 MP's, Many with 50 mp's being this close to the rail. Time to attack after resting 2 turns and some units 3 turns. Will recon this area to see what lies ahead.

Odessa

I wasn't going to attack Odessa this turn was my thinking last turn. But realizing I am on a time table I will attack this turn since my divisions are more than ready to blast this City-Fort to bits.

Turn 7

Odessa

I didn't blockade Odessa but should route to the North East just like in the other game. I should be able to get a few of the routers if I succeed. But I am pretty confident on my City-Fort busting now. CPP is your friend see.

And another, I think you get the picture. CPP is your friend on City Busting. Just make sure to have some units next to the city while your good units are behind the line getting CPP. Rumanians are rested too.

Odessa area Recon

On the other hand I messed up on the Recon and got very limited information for this area :( On to the Ground game.

Kiev attack real time

Soviet combat value derogation is insane. I have noted this in my Soviet games too. Something the Soviets have to live with and again why I won't invest in City-Forts the early game as Soviets.

Have you ever thought about an early fortress in Moscow so you can pack more divisions there for refit purposes? Would that make sense?

I have never thought about that but sounds like a "wonderful" idea if it works. Have you done this already and it works?

BUT, as for defending I am not going to waste the points & men on a lost cause of City Forts early on.

Yes units refit very nicely in city forts. I have used it upon occasion in my Soviet games and it was one of the ways I was able to rebuild the Soviet army against you. I spent turns 4 to 7 with less than 75 combat units on the map that were not Isolated/Routed/Depleted in that game when I cam up with that solution to recover as many units from Routed and Depleted as possible and then they were able to go to the Reserve after I took them out of the city fort.

Turn 7

Leningrad

Attack #2 clearing out Soviets in front of Leningrad

Clearing the front hexes for rail conversion in these two attacks. Next turn these two hexes will be converted by the FBD at which point he will be on his way towards Moscow. Until Leningrad is taken will only have a single track line between the two Dual rail tracks though. I am considering doing a 2nd single track to the Leningrad-Moscow dual track line but will decide next turn or not to do this.

Leningrad FBD track conversion this turn. Heavy woods is a nightmare to convert. In mud converting heavy woods track is 10 times worse. Hence my speed to get this done "ASAP"

Added another redundant link on the single track. This FBD will also link to Velikie Luki by single track to finish another redundancy then will head south to Vitebsk marked in blue. The other FBD will be converting the Heavy woods track marked in Lime.

Will see where the Armor will displace too when moving next to it. I am using my lowest point PZ division for this.

Odessa fleeing routed units try to surround.

The armor division went to where the blue line is & I will attack the Mech division to get it out of the way by retreating or routing. I do this based on what I saw in the next picture and will show.

I get the PZ next to the Mech and notice circled in red this hex did not flip to my control. So there is a Soviet unit in the adjoining hex marked with a Red X. I route away the Soviet Mech.

I bring up another PZ with a lot more MP's to see what we have. Hmmmmm, the Armor division should route to the SE marked in light blue. But if that hex is full it will route to the west from my observations in WITE2 marked in orange. At least that has been my observations so far in my short career WITE2. Here goes.

The blue circled hex has to be at stacking capacity. Thus the routed Armor unit went west. At least has held true most of the times I have witnessed retreats.

Odessa fleeing troops, most, look to have been captured. I hope. I still have housekeeping and other things to do in this area.
