Before I say anything else, this is really minor, it's just that I'm a stickler for detail, so much so that I often end up spending more time on that than I do actually playing the game. That's on me, I'm funny that way.

While tinkering about with the Editor to see if I could make a "Germanified place names" version of the map, I found that I can't use umlauts as in "München" instead of "Munich", or "Nürnberg" instead of "Nuremberg." It will take the first character, and then drop everything from the first appearance of an umlaut onwards.

Again, this is not an Earth-shattering or "game-breaking" thing (how I hate the way that "game-breaking" is being overused these days), it's really only a minor detail, a very minor one at that, I was just wondering if there's a way to work around it?

No, I'm not using German keyboard layout, I was using the ALT+0252 in this case which showed up fine on the screen, but not when I loaded it. I'll try with switching to German keyboard before editing. Thanks!

(One thing though, and this is probably a silly question: Is it showing up as "München" on the map as well? Because the umlauts show up fine in the editor, it's just on the map that they disappear for me).

Edit: Nope, no joy. I switched in Windows to German keyboard layout, verified that it was still there after I opened the game, and it still won't let me.

Meaning? I saved the scenario, and as long as I didn't use umlauts, the name showed up correctly after reload. It's only when I used umlauts that it truncated the name on the map (it still showed up correctly in the Editor).

Edit: AHHHHH! I found it! I just need to load Generic Data and edit THAT one instead of scenario data! It works now! Thanks!
