Not too long ago I reported recieving a virus and it seems I am again the target of a virus that came from a pbem opponent with out his knowledge. This file is called "trg Coord" fllowed by a MIME ID and a long series of letters. Has anyone seen this before?

I checked the McAfee virus library and no "trg coord" or trg" virus listed. McAfee's online Virus Scan is my choice for virus protection. It updates automatically, scans downloads automatically, and you can run a full system scan anytime. http://www.mcafee.com/anti-virus/default.asp? Another program I swear by is the anti-Trojan virus program "Tauscan." It covers you against Trojan viruses, which are not usually recognized by standard anti-virus programs. http://www.agnitum.com/products/tauscan/ I also use ZoneAlarm, which is an excellent firewall and has a free version. http://www.zonealarm.com/ And finally, there's Script Defender, which will automatically scan incoming email and alert you if there are any possibly dangerous files and give you the choice of activating them or not. And it's free, too. http://www.analogx.com/

I tried the AVP virus info bank and nothing under either word in the file title you give. Anything more specific to go on? AVP lists 45,000+ viruses, so it is sometimes difficult to find a description unless you know the category. They update daily, BTw, and provide Trojan protection along with everything else. Bing

Dear people, I had a look in my Sophos Antivirus Lex and it came up with this: IVP TRG-675 Its a virus which affects .com and.exe files and can be get rid off by starting ur OS with a clean disk (had to be a start disk of course, pardon me).

Send the virus file(s) to Mcaffe or Norton they will be glad to anaylize it. www.symantec.com/avcenter/index.html look lower on the page to submit virus samples. Under your decription I couldn't find anything known either.

It was me who had the virus. The name is W32/Magistr@MM. That's all I know. I usually update my virus scan once a week except for last week because I was away on business. McAvee has it listed, if I ever got hold of the person who puts us to this trouble I think you know what I would do to him.
