@EarlyDoors --- Are you running the ELO stats? We should use a real Ladder system, including which side is played.

Hi @ElvisJJonesRambo - yes, that's right, I'm running the spreadsheet atm
I know you have firm views on the Allies being an easier introduction for inexperienced players.
I could report Allied/Axis win/losses and am open to suggestions about ladders or incorporating side chosen into the scores?

I'll ask @TheLand if he has any ideas about how to factor that into the scores

What are your thoughts?

There are independent, free Ladder sites all over the web. Seems easier to have them do all the work, rather than an individual track manually, complete with various scoring systems. Not big deal.

Game ended.

EarlyDoors (Allies) vs ElvisJJonesRambo (Axis)

Early Doors wins. Americans fought in Pacific after sloppy Jap play. IJN got hit at Midway. I had to take a chance, so I tried to sneak round for soft targets, got drilled at the Coral Sea back-2-back turns. Axis tried significant fight in North Africa. Got cornered by Operation Torch (Yanks) in Algeria and British (Libya). Russia my troops were stout, but the African/Pacific sealed time for Allies.

Early Doors wins

Game ended.

ElvisJJonesRambo (Allies) vs IIo4Tu(Axis)

Two consecutive games, IIo4Tu(Axis) has been able to wrestle the Vichy French from me, and kick ass in Egypt/HolyLands. This game I f-cked up, spent 1 too many turns in Syria, instead of running to Iraq. I was bashing Italians who flooded the road to Damascus. IIo4Tu(Axis) had some brave paratroops capture key city to cutoff Brits. The Indians were eating the treads of Super-Panzers in the Holy Lands, was ugly. Real Nazi sh-t.

I salute IIo4Tu(Axis), he wins.

Battle of Coral Sea, was ugly. I tried to get Jap sneaky on you.

Your game has improved.

Also, you did an excellent job kicking the sh-t outta the German Navy. You had well positioned Royal Navy in the English Channel and North Sea. Each time I sent out U-boats after repairs & upgrades, they found a watery grave.

You out played me on the High Seas. When I lose the Naval part of the game, it usually ends up bad, real bad.

I could have continued with German, the Battle of Kursk I was quite happy with. Nailed alot of those T-34/78's and JU-122 w/o taking much damage.

The Battle around Moscow was a stalemate. Problem though, in 1944 you had Phillipines easy after Yamamota and all the Carriers were sunk. You got a Carrier in each major Pacific battle. Midway, Coral, & South. I couldn't double-time move. Didn't think you'd find me at Tarawa. I basically "guessed" hoping the Yanks were heading to Dutch East Indies, I could nail some ships/troops floating the unfriendly waters.

If I would have kept the IJN in Phillipines, I could have held for quite awhile, but had to force some action. The Indians were starting to dish alot of damage in MMPs exchanges. Your Bombers and Tactical planes had to have incredible Experience, the German people were getting waxed.

Erros of my play: Should have left Libya after stinging the British. I was kicking their ass. I only had 5 units there. Duh, I should have just left. Instead, I got greedy to fight Yankees, then got myself cornered. Ugly. Stupid. If the Rommell leaves to Italy, Germans just fine. I got everyone dead.

Rematch, anytime. Either side. I'm losing alot of games in greedy turns, but that's my style.

Game ended with Allied (rafaelmbaez) victory December 1943

rafaelmbaez (allies) vs Thunderlizard1 (axis)

-------------
Hard game, Thunderlizard please comment if I miss anything or I am wrong.

-Hold most the Chinese big cities playing very aggresive the first year, then retreat to fortress and mountains. My chinese troops were useless then to stop the japanese, just saved because the Burma/Pacific/Siberia campaign demanded japanese troops.
-I lost Dutch Indies because the bug to the Japanese.
-Put as much as I can in France to delay the Germans losing a few UK troops. No Grecee war.
-Not much fight in Libya if I remember correctly, it was abandoned quickly by Axis, and was ocuppied quickly.
-Turkey entered the war and I had to move all UK forces to Syria there plus covering Caucasus with the soviets. Super hard fight there, against elite turkish troops. Ankara fell, but not Instambul.
-I had to ignore the pacific war and only fought the japanese with Indian and Chinese troops.
-Hard Barbarrosa, my strategy was to defend the big rivers at all costs and paid off, with big and risky expensive counterattacks ( although losing more MPPS than Germany 2 or 3 to 1, I went to kill at all costs the panzers which stopped the offensives, keeping Rostov and Smolenks ). The f**king Luftwaffe powned me hard in late 1942 and all 1943 and made me lost lots of soviet units. Unstoppable. I also thought I could keep Vladivostok but was taken after a very clever strategy.
-Succesful invasion of Europe through Amsterdam and Bremen with all american and some UK units, as my strategy in the URSS was making me lose unites very fast. Long fight to progress bit by bit as Germany had elite troops and again was losing 2 to 1 in land combat. Here the Allied airforce was decisive to win, and also the control of the Atlantic to quickly transport units from US to Europe.
-Impressive tech from Germany, I was fighting with Tanks level 2 in URSS and Allies vs Tanks level 4.

Berlin was pretty much surrounded by Allied and URSS, and Germany surrendered.

Smckechnie (allies) vs Taifun (axis). Taifun victory. Conceded after dismal defense of Russia. China and other allies not in bad shape but with Russia out, Axis morale through the roof.

Smckechnie (axis) vs Thunderlizard11 (I think he is Thunderlizard2 in rankings). Axis decisive victory April 1944.

Allied victory (ThisEndUp) vs Axis (Allor) in August 44.

Failed Operation Sealion and Axis handily defeated in North Africa bode well for the Allied victory.
Well played ThisEdpUp

New ELO Game, Marcinos1985 (Axis) vs Dreddradish (Allies)

No major power diplo FYI

My opponent didn't move for a month and game was terminated by server.
It was late 1941, with USSR badly beaten already. NA and Middle East, Chonqing in China were gone too already. I'd say 80/20 for Axis win, but you never know.
However, as this was the first (last?) game in tournament for my opponent, I'd probably suggest to exclude it from results.

What do you think about it, @TheLand, @EarlyDoors?

Providing a majority of the community are in agreement I am happy to start marking games that timeout as a defeat for that player and a win for yourself. Thoughts?

Yes, definitely, timeout games should count. Marcinos was patient to wait a whole month.

I send a PM if I know I won't be able to return a move for more than a couple days. Just seems good manners to not make your opponent wonder what happened to you.

Game completed: Axis Win (Thunderlizard2) over Allies (ralaric). Russia out in August '42 just as Brits capitulate East Africa and start moving on North Africa.

Rematch started - same sides and players.

Well, he did send a PM and wrote he will be absent for several days.
I don't think this was on purpose, especially in current times. But if one doesn't have time to play, just send 'GG' and press resign button.
I don't want to elaborate about it more than it's worth it. If tournament organizers are ok with it, let's call it (and similar games) 'lost on time' and let's go back to playing.

You are correct. Totally agree. This isn't that big of a deal.

And....

Lets say your opponent returns, and for valid reason. Example: Your opponent died, and rose from the dead, I would certainly want to communicate. Allow for redemption. For me, say I went to jail for 30-day stint. I would want to also finish my games :)

All,
Every game timeout is unique. Whether it should count in the WaW or the WiE ELO tournament depends on the "unique" circumstances of the time-out.

Marcinos1985 asking for an opinion describing the circumstances is the right way to go.

When we started playing, there was a bug that if there are Allied transports around Italy, Dutch East Indies will prepare for war, and eventually, join the Axis.

Allied victory (Allor) vs Axis (Ralaric) in January 44.

Allies thwart Axis ambitions in North Africa
Russia starts punching back in late 43.
Allies pushed out of Greece in Mid 43 and have a failed landing in Italy Late 43.
China has gains early on in war but is later pushed back.
USN never really has an impact in the Pacific.

Thanks for the game Ralaric.

I have a slot available, maybe 2, for an Axis player(s). Who wants some free ELO?
