So I'm playing a PBEM game of the NA scenario as the AK, and I'm stuck at Sidi Barrani because of supply issues. I'm still waiting to hear from Alvaro regarding that issue, which is described here: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=5015562&mpage=1

@Alavro, I know you are busy with all the posts and can't always answer them right away (especially since you are very busy with the WPP forum), but I'm wondering if you may not have seen the updated version of the thread because I posted at some point that I thought I had figured it out, when in fact I hadn't. In any case, it would be great if you could have a quick look as I am at the point of deciding to quit the game if the issue with the Sidi Barrani supply depot is not WAD.

My new question is regarding the loss of Rommel (he was killed) during a UK attack against 15th Panzer division, when the Rommel HQ unit was no where near the front lines. Is this too WAD to mimic the fact that Rommel himself did visit the front lines and so could have been killed that way? If so, could this happen to other commanders in WPE and WPP?

Best regards,

C

The new N.A. campaign should be fixed if you start a new campaign.

If Rommel was killed then the HQ had to be in range. Maybe he was killed on the opponent turn when he attacked?

Many thanks Alvaro, but you do mean the NA scenario, right?

I knew the Tengeder supply depot was fixed with the latest beta patch (which I haven't installed yet because I'm waiting for the official patch), but it is not clear from your reply that there is also an issue with the Sidi Barrani supply depot, and if so, that it too was fixed.

The April 27th beta patch only mentions the Tengeder supply depot being fixed...

Beta 1.00.10 Beta 2

Fixed attacking air being destroyed hanging the game bug
Fixed North African scenario initial Axis upgrades taking production
Added ready date to support units
Fixed general stats overflow
Fixed supply depot at Tengeder in N.A. 1941 scenario so it can get supply
Added combat value when clicking on enemy land units next to friendly land units
Fixed convoy trade reset PP/OP bug
Change units that shatter due to no retreat path go into the build queue if they can trace to a supply source

Can you kindly clarify?

Regarding Rommel being killed, his HQ unit was three or four hexes back from where the only UK attack took place (during my opponent's turn), which was against the 15th panzer division. The manual does state that there is always a slight chance that a commander can be killed in action and be replaced by a subordinate general, so this is what must have happened. I always check the manual before posting questions, but for some reason (I think because I was a little shocked to see it happen), I forgot to do so this time...

Looking forward to your clarification.

Cheers,

C

Oops yea I just updated WPP not WPE lol. I meant in the next patch it will be fixed. It is fixed in the Beta
And yes the North African Scenario.....

The Sid Barrani depot is 1 hex off that's why it isn't connecting. I have to adjust it.

Actually I moved Barida one hex closer. I'll take a look at the whole thing today and run the Axis up to the front. Not enough people beta tested this scenario.

Many thanks Alvaro!
I really like the scenario.
Will you be checking all the other supply depots beyond Sidi Barrani as well?
