Thank you in advance if you can respond to this, and I apologize if I'm going over covered ground BUT......

Yes, I've read the manual
yes, I read the one page guide
yes, I read this: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/fb.asp?m=4993098
and yes this too: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/fb.asp?m=4937932

But I STILL have questions and issues with logistics, sorry

I figure if I start with freight and get my arms around that I'll move on to actual production and supplies/fuel/ammo. So I'm looking at the NSS for the axis (in this case Berlin but they all tell the same story).

There is an extra line in the hex pop-up "Depot freight level: 1000000" I've searched the manual but can't find a reference to it, what is that?

I also don't get how the NSS can store 4X it's capacity. I haven't seen anything about this anomaly either. Is capacity just waived for NSS depots?

capacity is related to the railyards, NSS have a particular rule (25.2.3) of

General point, some of the data is arbitrary to make the wider system work (or in other words paying too much attention tends to produce Alice In Wonderland moments), NSS is one of them - its not really a real world concept, in reality all that supply etc trundles from its point of production to a range of futher production or distribution centres. Since at the end of the day this is not sim-WiTx its simplified into one big pool.

Note you have 10 times more stored than you can send out - and its similar for the other 3 Axis NSS. That is essentially to pump prime the system, what really matters is the amount that gets distributed. Add up the 4 NSS and it gives you some idea of the base load of transport capacity in the Reich proper, in effect very little tinkering further east is going to really boost that fundamental number.

Loki,

I understand the Railyard rule and the info line "Rail: 1800000" that is not my question.

I don't understand "Depot freight level:1000000"

The NSS is (are) the ONLY depot(s) I can find that have that particular line of info with the words "Depot freight level"

I'm just thinking there is some missing piece of the puzzle. What is "Depot freight level"?

As for the Capacity issue, I am assuming that capacity/storage are irrelevant for the NSS since they produce a fresh two and half million units or freight each turn, at least until they are cutoff or get placed in a EZOC. Does that sound right?

That is the maximum amount of freight that can be generated in the hex in a single turn. Since it is an obscenely high number of 1M I doubt you will hit the ceiling in a game.

By the way Vienna, another NSS, also has that limit.

It's how much freight the NSS depots receives each turn. The standard is 1 million tons, but it is possible to create smaller NSS depots that don't receive as much per turn (usually used in smaller scenarios.

Carl, All four Axis NSS have that line of info from what I see.

Joel, what is the distinction between that and the 2.5 million generated by the NSS each turn?

Also, thank you both for responding
