I would like to know how recon is handled in the game.

What knowledge do you have of AI TF movement and how much distance do you get to see ?

Is recon designed into the game, or do you need to perform specific tasks with specific units to get on map info ?

Please go into detail if possible.
Thanks
Rich

Recon is generally done automatically based on proximity to the enemy, naval position near enemy-controlled hexes (coast-watchers) etc.

Fleets are invisible unless spotted. Even after being generally spotted, an actual attempt to attack may fail due to failure to spot locally. Land and air unit positions are always known, but details on unit types and strengths may be hazy based on proximity.

COMINT (communications intelligence) units can be used to recon an area.
