T04 AGN Rail:

It is easy to spot how Riga is connected by rail throughout the Baltics. The 4th PG FBD repaired various rail hexes to supplement the captured ones as the rail to Pskov was captured almost complete. I create a new depot in Jalgava to improve the supply net in that area for the airbases.

T04 AGC Rail:

I create a depot in Krupki despite no railyard because I need a depot close to the front I am currently at. Once I capture into the land bridge this depot can be lowered in priority. I currently have two double rails to Minsk done and expanding on the double rail to Smolensk and the double rail to Gomel from Minsk.

T04 AGS Rail:

A new depot in Chernovtsy which also connects its level 2 railyard to the rail net. Next turn the 1st PG FBD should be in Tarnopol where another depot will be built. The VIII Hungarian Corps is moved so next turn the oilfields at Drohobycz will be connected. The Corps will then move to start repairing rail somewhere else.

T04 Miscellaneous Final Steps:

Nothing in the Reserves is ready for the map so all of them go to REFIT. I move the Army and higher HQs to depots to help the supplies. I have enough APs so I make 18th and 11th Armies into Assault commands. The 11th Army is more for the command points which are really needed there. All over stacked airbases (red circles) are being expanded (no AP costs but they are all in well supplied areas). I am not building new airbases at this time as there are several good airbase complexes near the current front lines (such as Pskov). I spend the rest of my APs on creating depots in Rumania and Hungary garrison locations. This will save on truck usage, especially during the bad weather months.

Like the opening a lot, lots of routing with no retreats.

Will give it a try.

My opinion on the new Recon AD is that it works. My losses have not increased (which was the factor on limiting the exposure) so it becomes a no brainer. The new RECON AD is adjusting the altitude to 17K - 20K, using them only one day, and getting rid of escorts. A large improvement over the default.

Hardradi - the opening is actually a compromise between the "foot to the floor advance the infantry" and the "gotta pocket them all" sides. By controlling where the Soviet routs go you force them into the future pockets. I send out some panzer forces to seize the towns I am going to advance the panzers through to make the pockets so they don't get routs sent to them. It works pretty well over all.

T05 OOB:

Well it is an improvement over last turn's 3.4M as it is down to 3.2M. I just have to keep at it.

T05 Ground Losses:

Another 387K last turn. I would love to keep that up as it is shrinking the Soviet manpower by about 200K each turn. I have also captured almost 1M men.

T05 Air Losses:

Still at just above 3:1 losses in Air Combat. I would like to see that much higher.

T05 Production:

The ammo and fuel in units is over desired. Now the supplies are just a bit low. Overall it is looking really good and the Vehicles in Units is even in great shape. The pool is under and but the repair pool is 28K. Comparing this to my previous AAR where I was building depots everywhere there were 15K in the pool and 22K in repair. So this method is actually causing more vehicle wear and tear.

T05 Soviet Attacks:

There were none. I am expecting some ground counterattacks any turn now but done have shown up yet. This is making me paranoid.

T05 Freight:

The freight situation is looking good at +11K.

T05 Supply Net North:

The pre-war depots are almost done being used to supply the front lines. Minsk is coming on line and so is Daugavpils and Riga. This will improve as the railyards are repaired.

T05 Supply Net South:

Lvov has definitely come online for supplies. There are still some supply transports moving in Rumania and Hungary that I have to work on. Note that in both screen shots that the Luftflottes have been advancing AOGs. Also note that the Flieger Fuehrer Ostsee is now based in southern Rumania.

T05 Air Phase:

I add both the 1st and 2nd Rum. Bomb Flotillas to the Naval Patrol directive for Odessa. This should give some extra umph there and hopefully I will be isolating it on the ground either this turn or next. Air losses are much higher but that is because of the Naval Patrol (losing 72 mission and 1 escort aircraft}. That is the cost of doing business but it did work and Odessa is now isolated from sea supply.

The Mtn Rum Corps is working with the Slovakians to try and finish off the last of the Kalamyia Pocket. The rest of the forces have crossed the Dnestr in force and have almost isolated Odessa. Note that naval interdiction closing the port.

T05 AGS Hungarians:

The Hungarians force another Soviet division to surrender and capture the last dot in the pocket (Kalamyia). There are still five Soviet divisions in the pocket.

T05 AGS 17th Army:

LII Corps starts to form the western wall of the center arm of trapped Soviets. IV Corps is helping form a pocket to the north. XXXXIX Mnt Corps finishes pocketing the southern group. The independent XXXIV Corps is assigned to the 11th Army (now an Assault HQ with more command limits).

T05 AGC 4th Army:

VII Corps advances into the Pripyet Marshes using the 102nd RHG Cmd to link with 6th Army to the south. IX Corps concentrates on Parichi and clears a Soviet division from its front. XIII Corps captures Zhlobin on the Dnepr River. XXXXIII Corps concentrates at Osipovichi having recovered some CPP last turn. Two of the divisions should recover some more at the end of this turn too.

T05 AGC 9th Army:

The army is taking over as much of the front line as possible from the 2nd and 3rd PGs. Next turn it should be able to shift to fully cover the front when the AGN's 2nd Army reaches the front.

Continues to march to the front near Polotsk where next turn it will fit in between the AGC's 9th Army and the AGN's 16th Army allowing those two armies to concentrate their forces better to work with the panzers.
