Just to follow up on this, we're sending out a replacement to Larry ASAP and while the overall incidence of damage is quite low, we've also upgraded our packaging for all future WITE2 manual shipments to try to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Thanks Erik. You've helped me many times through the years, and once again. Good to read about better packaging. Live and learn. Story of my life...

Ah yes, Royal Mail. Shipped stuff from UK to Japan, they took the detour to Gibraltar. I kept the package as a memento.

Update: I got a "Package Sent To Larry ..." email and it also has a tracking number too! Now just the wait.... again. However, Matrix came through again.

It's been three days and the tracking still says they are waiting for the parcel. Is shipping retarded in the UK?!

Updated tracking on Monday 5-24-21:

"Great news, we have your parcel and it's on its way to you

Your parcel is due for delivery Wed 2nd June."

I have received my manual...the package showed some signs of leprechaun's attempting entry, but the book withstood their assault and arrived in mint condition.

Time to relearn the game....starting with the new air system.

Royal Mail didn't pack the bloody parcel!

Don't blame the UK, we have one of the best postal services. Most of us receive our Royal Mail parcels and letters the very next day, without issue. And have done for decades.

What you've experienced is a heavy book inside a lightweight slip, combined with the 'stresses' of international handling. If anything, blame your local sorting office or the person that packed the item.

A note was attached if you look at the pictures I posted you will see. I think it's the third one down.

I'm so sorry if I offended your perfect UK postal service. However, I have a question for you. If your postal service is so good, why did they go ahead and send the parcel all the way to the USA knowing it was very damaged? Why did they not contact Slitherine instead? Seems smarter to me. Before I opened it up, it was clearly visible how bad it was, and their note admits that. It does seem pretty retarded to me.

It was more a rhetorical question about how the item was packaged i.e. was it appropriate for international travel?

Slitherine have since changed the packaging process. So hopefully no one else will suffer the same fate.

I live in UK and bought the game with the physical option (paper manual) on the 28th of March. I have nor received an email confirming shipment, nor received it.

Should I have got it by now, or when could I expect it?

Thankyou

I received my manual today here in Connecticut, about a week and half after ship confirmation. Mine arrived in a box, no bubble wrap, but fairly good fit without much room to move. It arrived in perfect condition, including the corners where I expected some damage, but there was none. Very pleased.

Very glad to hear the new packaging is working better. Enjoy!

My manual was not due to arrive until early June, it just came in PERFECT condition. Thanks Erik for helping me, great job my friend.

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend too, now if I can just live long enough to read through this behemoth.
