For all JFB's; a cool loading screen from the above mentioned site.

warspite1

Nice pic..but why are there three capital ships in the shot?

I think Geoff has hit the nail on the head, its probably HMS. Vampire Warspite.

warspite1

Okay... craziest looking destroyer I ever saw. Must have been on steroids

I know, it's a depiction made by Tokyo Rose where they really sank one carrier, three battleships and numerous other cruisers and destroyers.

I guess I'm not the only one who drafted the womenfolk for the war effort.

To show the men what they were fighting for although the middle one may have actually been a ferry pilot.

But what is the plane. Based on the curves (plane folks) I would guess B-26 but that black vertical thing in the background, if a tail, eliminates the B-26. A number of years ago someone posted a link to a bunch of pin-ups. It was very entertaining. It was the first time I had ever heard of Jinx Falkenberg. My kind of young woman. And not just a pretty face.

Yeah. She was an actual WW2 warplane ferry pilot.

My other load screen follows a similar theme. Before staring a map for hours on end you need a little eye candy.

or does that guy leaning over the plotting table on the "Setting Sail!" screen look like a young Tom Hanks?

I don't see the resemblance.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that uses those load screens.

That guy leaning over the plotting table on the "Setting Sail!" screen is actually the father of one of the makers of AE - nice little homage.

I always figured that guy had a certain "cool" factor. Nonchalantly wearing his shades below decks.

Could have been hypersensitivity to light, or just trying to minimize light to improve night vision. The Japanese kept their night lookouts in a dark room for most of the day.

Look at the hair on the back of the ape's hands, then Tom Hank's hands.

The other guy who looks like Matthew Modine (but isn't), his character's name is Lt. Hanks.
