can you post me one of those? I removes all urban coast (substituted that for clean ones) so it may be a mistake while making the installable version

RedLancer were (of course!) right, fonts CAN be modified completely. The basckside is that if you change them you really need a new game to be started, I will work on some font variations for completion and optional use.

(Atached a 10 minutes try at it)

If you can change the font so that main cities are larger and if you can generally improve the names display, then you are THE man !!!
And your Jison-like map looks fab !
BTW, where do I find the files ? I'm a bit lost in various versions ... Where is the latest set of tiles ?

Great that you cracked the text issue vilcum! Will have to see it in game to really judge, but it looks readable now.
Just a tiny issue I have, the rough terrain looks a bit too light in my eyes, almost like desert terrain. So would have that on my Wishlist
But otherwise great work.

Now I'm even inspired to tangle with a map idea I got

I toyed with some other rough terrain tones too, choosed this ones in the end as the contrast looked better on my eyes.

Go for your own map! but be aware is adicting...I begin this as "only a little customization" , I love the easy it is to customize this game (map, counter...)... it takes lot more work and money to do the same to my motorbike

there are links to all the last version files in the first post of this forum. I will put fonts there too when I have ones I am happy with (I am having problems now mostly with minor rivers)

Font working...I am totally sold on towns and airbases, and quite happy with city/urban

I am not so happy with rivers...combinations that works right with forest are somewhat too heavy in southern steppes

So sould I Download all the files from all the links below ?

FILES

https://www.dropbox.com/s/xkjr2kyluwt15kf/RAINMAP-CORE.zip?dl=0

- includes clear, coast, swamp, water, urban/town/cityes, rough and mountain tiles

https://www.dropbox.com/s/28oorlxvcp6baew/RAINMAP-RAIL.zip?dl=0

- includes single and double rail lines with "bed paths" to make them more visible.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0vdiu3jypidstht/RAINMAP-TREES.zip?dl=0

- Forest and woods, as commented previously they tan be subtituted harmlessly with PrettyTrees mod v0.3

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ge8ri4bbummg1u4/RAINMAP-RIVER.zip?dl=0

- mayor and minor rivers, in "high contrast" format. you can left stock ones -simply so not install this part- for a more smooth map look

https://www.dropbox.com/s/p10r0hr2ln2z297/RAINMAP-FERRY.zip?dl=0

- Only a smaller icon for ferrys.

Yes , If you want the full pack. "core" is what I think is a "must", the other ones are more a matter of personal taste.

Here is N Smolensk.

http://puu.sh/HMMsG/a4b46f04ae.png

Also Smolensk south of the Dnepr should be a little bigger it connects to N Smolensk.

Vilnius, Riga, and Minsk are other examples of this that I have seen.

This was my doing. I wanted Smolensk to be historical and since the devs didn't seem to want to do it I attempted it myself.
It is not in anyone else's version of the game. I have since backed it out but my saves still reflect it. I would have to restart my current campaign to fix it.

Some ideas.. which would be really great when possible with your mod

Snow - is it possible with the new map?

Urban and city images much more clear and bigger

Text glow - outline through the editor did not allow such effects, sadly

Water color gradient

Not only possible, it is from stock one, but it is an AIR weather, anyway I prefer the current real snow from stock for land weather ...even if it is sometimes harder to see

I am using EXACTLY those cities you pictured (from Jison) but yes, I think I know what you mean, I will try to make then more contrasted in a future release

Editor allows for a outline, not glow (to my knowledge extent)

I love that sea too, and it CAN be done ..only it needs real loads of time

Thanks for your answers. It´s great to see that someone is trying to make such a nice looking map for us.
Jisons map mod gave us a really perfect looking map with WitE. Your mod get´s better and better and it would be outstanding if you can it improve futher - for me, I would like to have a mod which is looking like Jisons map with the new typ of map. BTW thanks again for your hard work, I will not play without your mod again.

Thanks from me, too, as the game is significantly more enjoyable with a nice map.

Added to the first poso three new files

- modified edifications (towns, cityes urban and heavy urban tiles) greater contrast and some minor amendments (thanks briklebritt for pointing at them.. I fel there are yet modifications to be done)

Fonts and MAPTEXT USE WITH CAUTION . I really advice doing your own combination, but add this ones for completion

fonts change the font and size on ALL YOUR GAMES.
Maptext does only apply to new matches created after its instalation

The only Google i have on my PC is Google Earth & YouTube. I'm using IE, Bing, And Microsoft Edge. Is this download compatible with my Edge file extractor? I don't see the point of downloading other browsers un-zipping tools, if i can help it.

Thanks.

It can be downloaded from any navigator (edge works fine). Then any extractor will do the work, as the file is a common ZIP
