I am moving this from the Quick question thread, since it turned into a not-so-quick one... I need help to understand why my front lines on the northern Kerch (running south-west one hex east of the Salagir river in a straight nice line) are starving without supply allocation. HQs are next to them. The ports of Kerch and Feodosia have freight stored up in them. The rail line behind the front isn´t bombed. Its snowfall in January. Yet a trickle of supplies is sent from a two Caucasus depots to one division, all but one freight each being lost on the way. But to the majority of the front line hexes here NONE is sent at all. The local port depots have very few trucks in them, but I can´t influence that except through supply settings I believe. Could I send trucks there manually? I dont think so. Feodosia is 4 hexes from the front, so no horse drawn transport, but since no supplies are sent out, this doesn´t matter either way I suppose. I have a prio 4 depot on the rail line one hex behind the front, 3 from the nearest port Feodosia. It never receives any freight at all. Why? A lack of moving stock on the peninsula to get anything here? My only guess would be a somewhat too low supply priority on their HQs, but this doesnt really make sense either. They are some of the highest on the map. I have done some air supply from Kaban/Kuban peninsula. This helps a lot, but not how I want to solve it. Is it the frontline forts being built automatically sucking up all the supplies? This isnt the case anywhere else. The AI isnt attacking, so it isnt combat depleting me. And its the delivery, and not the consumption that wont work. Is it just that you simply cant supply an entire full Front, through the ports, even if they are stocked to the brim with freight? Troops outside Sevastapol (also almost 100% Freight stocked up) doesnt starve in the same manner, even with lower HQ and depot supply priority. The situation is very similar, what makes this difference? The size of the Sevastapol (and Yalta ports?) Also I fail to move any freight from Sevastopol, into a prio 4 depot in the adjacent rough hex to the east, no matter what supply prio I have in Sevastopol. There is also an Army HQ in the hex, still no luck. (I tried all from 0 to 3, all lower than the land depot. I am sure I am missing something here, the supply AI feeling its freight is safer in the fortified port, but I want to shuffle some of it up closer to the Yalta mountain range. At least Yalta is doing its job, being stocked at 141% freight and 5 trucks, and sending some to nearby hexes in the mountains. Anyone dare to venture a guess? I am also cut of in the forests north of Leningrad, supplied from Osinivets port, still able to get a trickle of supplies into Oranienbaum. Strangely enough here, troops starve a bit slower, have nice supply levels, but lose a bit of morale (from being semi-isolated I guess). My guess is because this "beachhead" is about an Army strong, whereas Kerch contains a fully stocked Front, with plenty of Arty support. Hope someone can help me make sense of whats going on... In summary: - Why wont supply move from (set to low prio, fully stocked naval bases like on Kerch) depots, to inland depots on prio 4? It does normally, but there is something with these semi-"isolated peninsulas the cross water situation going on. EDIT: In case it matters... I have lessened on map truck usage from 141k to 132k by disband and static units. - Depots 45k - Pool 5k - Repairs 5k Thing is they wont move into the peninsulas discussed above? Am I hogging port capacity with arty shells and men, so trucks wont get across? Grateful to know if its possible to improve the delivery to the front.
