Hi Everyone. Just bought WitE2 and physical Book. Looking forward to getting the book soon. I was thinking maybe within two weeks I hope to receive it.

Just some quick observations between the two games WitE and WitE2. It seems the units themselves are smaller in the new game. I have zoomed in as far as possible and still am having trouble seeing things well. I wonder if changing the resolution might help? Any thoughts on this?

Right away the air war is drastically different than its predecessor. Setting up theatre boxes is new to me along with multiple rail lines. For my first game I am letting the AI run both the air campaign and supply depots. After I receive my book I will delve in and learn more about micro managing things.

I look forward to trying different strategies such as a Moscow center thrust or a Northerly attack on Leningrad with most of the panzer divisions then sweeping down to Moscow and then Stalingrad. No idea if it will work in WitE2 but I love trying different things.

As this is only my second online post here on Matrix I hope to ask questions and learn as much as possible from everyone here. I have read through most of the posts and enjoy reading the differing viewpoints. This seems to be a very good community which I hope to become a part of. After a few months I would love to do an AAR against the AI which I know I will lose badly!!! I just enjoy the AAR games so much. I am so amazed at the praise you gentlemen lavish on each other when commenting on your head to head games. I hope to someday try my hand at battling a human player but again know I will be soundly thrashed!!!!

Lastly I am looking forward to DLC's coming in the months ahead. I love the DLC's when they were released for WithE.

Thank you all for helping me decide to buy this game as I was not going to originally. I have Warplan and will buy Warplan Pacific soon. I have purchased from Matrix in the past but always bought as a guest. Now I have my profile set up and my games listed on my page. Do I need to register my games if they are listed on my page? I noticed my download of WitE2 was the latest version so patching was not necessary.

Thank you all very much. Look forward to going to war with you all!!!! Please leave a comment here as I love hearing from others and learning from you all.

The units are not smaller at all, but if you are running in a higher resolution, that may account for what you are seeing. There are some suggestions here you may want to try if so: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4991284

As general solution for all games, I got myself a SONY 32" TV on my desk in addition to my old 21" NEC 4:3 LCD.

I think TV's are very good viewing choices. Better than computer displays. Why?

A computer display as the diagonal increases so does the native resolution. This just means things get smaller not larger.

But a FullHD TV is always native 1920x1080 whether is at 15" or 82" diagonal (just the pixels get larger). Granted the larger the TV gets, the more grainy the image looks, but it still infinitely better than using a non-native interpolated resolution.

If you do the math and angles, 32" is about optimal for viewing distance and size.

Thank you Eric and Markshot for the replies. Might be worth running out and buying a cheap 32 inch to help me see better. Prices on TVs have dropped over the last few years. I am currently running 1920 x 1080 on my Asus laptop. It just seems I can zoom in one step closer in my WithE game than I can in WitE2 game. The last few years my eyes have gotten worse it seems.

Thanks for your help everyone.
