It would be really (really!) useful to be able sequence your air missions, especially for ground attack directives. Something like placing numbered markers in hexes, so mission-1 goes here, mission 2 goes there etc. I find a problem with turn 1 and striking the airfields is that, unless VERY carefully shaped, the AI tends to do the long-range missions when the nearest fighter bases have not been neutralized.
I don't mind the air directive system but I think ultimately it fails its purpose. The player has less control over the air forces under his command and we're dependent on shaping conditions just right in order to prevent the AI screwing up and getting our bomber formations shot to pieces.
It would be better to have the option to run missions on a per-execution basis in my opinion. The Air Directives are too crude and I miss the granular control of the old system.
(This is after weeks of playing and enjoying almost everything about WitE 2).

Try changing the Mission Priority. For example, I bomb the Mig bases first with Very High priority and then other fighter bases with High priority. Then I bomb the other airfields with Medium and Low priority. The order that Air Directive are set also influences when they go in. Priority trumps the order, eg, If you set up a High Priority air directive at the end. It will fly after all the other High Priority missions but before any High, Medium or Low priority missions.

I am not sure how order is set amongst two different Air Commands if the mission has the same priority. Again, as an example, all High Priority missions will fly first no matter what air command they are in.

If you have a High Priority Mission in Fleigerkorps I and another in Fleigerkorps II, which one flies first? I am not sure. I think mine usually run north to south but that could be because I set it up that way. Easy to test and find out.

I also miss a feature to alter the order in which missions are executed. Now it is only possible to change the order by deleting them and create new ADs, in my understanding, which is time consuming. If there were a way to sort them instead that would be very useful.
As far as I understand, missions are done in the order they are listed second according to priority.

1+ for the proposed feature to sequence the ADs themselves, so bombers don't fly over enemy airbases to a distant target before that airbase is targeted first.

you have a tool as Hadradi points out. Priority dominates. So there is no need to delete and redo, simply juggle the order by altering their relative priority.

The ability to now phase 32 air directives should solve this problem - yay!

Yes, this would be handy. A drag and drop method or something.

To overcome this I was creating a few extra "fake" air directives in between my real ones in case I wanted to go back and add a new one in the order. Once it was set I would delete the unused "fakes".

Now I find that order is not really that important if you are using Priority as I described above.
