Yay. These guys knew how to do it.

It should surprise no one that America's Founding Fathers knew how to have a good time. They celebrated the signing of the U.S. Constitution with an epic party that resulted in one of history's greatest bar tabs.

The 55 members of the Constitutional Convention imbibed 54 bottles of Madeira, 60 bottles of claret, eight bottles of whiskey, 22 bottles of porter, eight bottles of hard cider, 12 bottles of beer and seven bowls of alcoholic punch.

Is that all? Some people constantly drink so much that they pass out - people think that it is normal.

Plus a rebel flag for today . . .

American National Anthem (I chose an instrumental version, because nobody can sing the thing!):
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=&view=detail&mmscn=mysv&mid=90F10507F4590793812E90F10507F4590793812E&FORM=SVIM01

And our French Allies (Is there any anthem more warlike than La Marseillaise? "Let enemy blood water our furrows!"):
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=&view=detail&mmscn=mysv&mid=40516CDA6EE1AD6A3DE340516CDA6EE1AD6A3DE3&FORM=SVIM01

For our British cousins (OK, OK, it's not the official one - but it should be):
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=&view=detail&mmscn=mysv&mid=B88D07F0AA204588D76BB88D07F0AA204588D76B&FORM=SVIM01

And their Hessian Allies (anachronistic, but so what.):

At the risk of getting into trouble, there was this alternate American anthem I'm fond of:

Then you should state that it is a radio station that is bloody. KMA stands for something like Kiss My but that last word is not Grits.

You're never too old to learn, and I am one good example of that.

I did not know until services this morning that there is Someone mentioned by name in every single U.S. state constitution - all 50 of them.

Happy Birthday USA

There is no need to be sarcastic.

Iowa, I try to avoid it because of the pervasive fragarence of hog waste. Of course, there are a lot of chicks there as well . . .

And just what are you celebrating by posting the flag of traitors? Going to post a Nazi flag on VE Day? A Japanese one come Dec 7?

Okay then, since you don't understand the first flag, here is this picture:

First of all, the Southern people were not traitors. They had openly disavowed their US nationality and taken a new nationality. This is a right US people have even today: You could change your nationality to Canadian. Then, if the USA invaded Canada and you fought for Canada's defense, you would not be a US traitor. You would be a Canadian patriot.

A traitor is someone like Benedict Arnold - who postured loyalty, while betraying it.

Furthermore, not even the southern leadership was ever charged with treason, much less convicted of it.

Secondly, this is an international board and today is a day for each of us to celebrate patriotism - however each of us sees it. Note my post 9 above: US anthem, French anthem, even British and German anthems. And, yes, the CSA anthem, too.

Happy Fourth, everyone!

Why should people not be proud of their heritage? Why should they not be proud to display patriotism? Or do you think that it is a forbidden subject?
