ORIGINAL: Aurelian And just what are you celebrating by posting the flag of traitors? Going to post a Nazi flag on VE Day? A Japanese one come Dec 7? First of all, the Southern people were not traitors. They had openly disavowed their US nationality and taken a new nationality. This is a right US people have even today: You could change your nationality to Canadian. Then, if the USA invaded Canada and you fought for Canada's defense, you would not be a US traitor. You would be a Canadian patriot. A traitor is someone like Benedict Arnold - who postured loyalty, while betraying it. Furthermore, not even the southern leadership was ever charged with treason, much less convicted of it. Secondly, this is an international board and today is a day for each of us to celebrate patriotism - however each of us sees it. Note my post 9 above: US anthem, French anthem, even British and German anthems. And, yes, the CSA anthem, too. Happy Fourth, everyone!
