Hello

I've decided to try this game out. I have strategic bombing understood, I did the the introductory scenario and won a decisive victory and I can get a reasonable number of VPs in the grand campaign.

I don't know what I'm doing with tactical air. Do you want to do ground support to directly damage units or do interdiction to hurt them as they move, or both?

Are there any short scenarios which teach you tactical air.

What sorts of numbers of planes do you want to use per hex, 100? 200?

This was supposed to be in the War in the West forum, I added this to the wrong place!!!! Sorry

Oops...

HERE WE GO AGAIN.

My question would be how do we 'amplify' and 'disregard' at the same time!?!?

I beta tested War in the West.

The answer is to -

(a) bomb them when they are in non-cover terrain (no trees or buildings)

(b) drop your fighters on ground attack to low altitude, mediums to about 5k feet, but keep the heavies at height - otherwise they will be dissipated by ops losses*.

(c) use rest and surge settings. Don't call for maximum efforts every week. Give some of the boys a week off.

(d) properly handled, Allied ground interdiction missions can eviscerate a German panzer division that moves. But not if it doesn't - so don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Edit- *Applies to all types, really. Low altitudes are a surge measure only.

Don't worry about it. It is a standing joke about disregarding threads in this forum. There is no way to move or delete a thread.

Not by us, we can't move a thread but other people can.

Of course, you can edit your post and ask people to disregard it . . .

Disregarding.

Do we ignore the disregard or do we disregard the ignore?

Just disregard your confusion. Or ignore it. Your option.
