Not sure if this is the right forum.
I read in the Editor manual under Components the following
"The War in the Pacific Admiral’s Edition Editor Manual is provided in a series of other documents,
located on your CD-ROM.
The Editor Manual provides all information needed in order to create your
own scenarios. The Tutorial Guide is provided to show the basics of War in the Pacific to a new user,
and the Main Manual itself is a storehouse for all applicable information with regards to the game.
Please refer to the Main Manual and the Tutorial Guide if you need information other than what is
provided within the Editor Manual."
The part in red seems to say there are a number of other documents that need to be read in conjunction with the Editor Manual. All I have on the DVD provided is an auto-run file and a setup exe file. No other files.
The editor Manual itself looks fairly comprehensive so I am wondering if this is just a poorly worded sentence and that you merely consult the Main Game Manual and/or the Tutorial guide together with the Editor Manual to get what you want. Mind you, I did not get anything that looks like a tutorial manual and there is none in the manuals folder.

There is no tutorial or tutorial manual. It was something that did not get done.

When the game was first released there were plans to have a free tutorial you could download, but the need to patch the game used up all the coding time so it was never done.

There is lots of stuff on YouTube and similar sites now. Back in the day I just read the manual and AARs and asked a lot of questions on the forum. But there was no substitute for starting a scenario and playing with the orders settings to figure out how to do things and what happened (in a range of possibilities depending on die rolls) with various settings.

Thanks guys. I sort of realised that there was no tutorial when I saw all the you tube posts. If there was an actual tutorial, then we would not have needed all those youtube posts.
I guess my question was really, is the Editor manual the only manual for editing scenarios. The original statement was that the editor manual was made up of a number of other documents spread around the CD-ROM. As I mentioned, I did not have any of those on the DVD I Purchased in 2019.
I am therefore likely to accept that the Editor Manual available when you click on the start screen is the only guide to editing scenarios?
I just have a personal view on the waste of the Dutch air arm due to them not apparently getting anything from the Allies after Soerabaja falls. So I might do a minor tweak to allow them to get continuing supplies of P40E and Mitchells and PBY5, albeit at a very low rate. I know that the Allies would not wish to see so many highly trained and efficient aircrew simply sit on their backsides for the rest of the war.

There is at least one Australian air unit that can use them.

Tweak all that you want, maybe allow them to upgrade to Australian Kittyhawks of a later date.

Yes, we in OZ who are historical aware are conscious of 18 Sdn RAAF which was actually Dutch manned.
I am just conscious of the 8 or 9 Dutch PA Dets that I have moved to Merauke, the last Dutch base, and what they could do for the SWPAC Naval Search abilities. Eight or nine Dets each with 3 Catalinas each can cover a lot of ocean.

Or, they can be used to concentrate the Dutch force so that it can actually constitute a real roadbump.

Permanently restricted Dutch units that cannot be shipped between Dutch bases on different islands CAN be airlifted by flying boats.

They may also be able to sea lift some fragments of the permanently restricted units to a base in Australia which has been transferred to the Dutch so they go there and may be built somewhat from the limited Dutch replacements plus the universal squads/devices. Then you can move them where you want and they will show up on the recon as units, possibly deterring the enemy. Also, their excess support squads can also help rebuild shattered Allied units there and the engineers can work on Australian bases.

LGKMAS, this forum has a modding sub-forum with many players who are experienced in using the Editor. You can get your questions answered there.
