Hi, I just came back to the game after playing a GC in 2018.

To relearn the game I am playing the Guadalcanal scenario.

Unfortunately I encountered a problem, which I cannot solve. All off a sudden some units are refusing to move.

For example between Tassafaronga and Lunga which are both under my full control and also northwest of Buna where I just kicked out the enemy.

The 6th Australian Division cannot move back to Buna or press the attack into the base northwest of their location. The only option I have, is to move into the empty hex on the west.

Hopefully someone can help me and can solve the mystery.

Unfortunately i am not allowed to post a link to an image, so I had to find a workaround imgurDOTcom/a/oLH28VP

Your post count is too low to be able to embed images. Don't recall what the post count threshold is.

Your most likely problem is lack of control of the hexsides in question.

Try pushing the 'W' key and Hexside Control will be highlighted as it is in the attached image.

As you can see, although I control the bases at Rangoon and Pegu, I do not control all of the hexsides.

Learning Hexsides is a very important skill.

Hans is correct, you hit the W Hotkey to show Hexside control.
That is likely your problem on Guadalcanal..

You also want to use the F6 Hotkey to show Hexside Terrain detail.
That is your problem at Buna.

You can hit the W key and then the F6 key to overlay both at the same time.
Most players only do one at a time.

In addition to hexside control, there can be a slight gui problem, if you just fought a battle in the hex you want to move to...I have found that clicking below and a bit right of the crossed sword icons will do the trick...and not the middle of the hex. Sometimes it takes a couple of clicks but this problem doesn't really surface all that much.

Thank you for your help! It is awesome that in a niche game like witp ae the community is that active and helpful!

With lowpe's comment I could find the culprit: me

I always clicked (intentional or not) at the base icon, when I wanted to issue a move order. Which did not work. This also solved my problem with strategic redeployment in Australia.
