There is sort of a way to do this, in Hotseat play. At the end of each side's turn, save the game. When you reload it, you get to watch your entire turn's moves. Basically if you save each turn for each side, you can watch all the moves of every turn, or the turns of your choice. So if the PBEM system would allow a similar function, say players can download and save their own turns locally after they finish, and at the end of the game both sides can exchange their saved files... I'm sure there can be even better ways to achieve this. The PBEM can make sure players only play from the directly downloaded version and not any of the locally saved ones, so there can be no worry of someone editing their saved files... In fact, right now, the desperately needed replay function in PBEM is to allow players to re-watch their opponents' moves as many times as they wish, and to rewind/forward... Asking players to use a video recording software isn't the best solution, really.
