I think the Mustangs were grounded by weather in the morning. • The B-29's got good hits on almost all targets as the recon comparison in a following post shows. • The Corsairs are back on CAP and the fleet carriers are heading back to Chichi-jima. • The P-51's are standing down for at least a day. Going forward I might try sweeping with 3 squadrons at a time, rotating squadrons and moving through a list of potential targets to just keep up pressure on defenses. • B-29 target: Tokyo, Manpower, nighttime, 5,000 ft. • Landings on Haha-jima in two days. • Assault on Chichi-jima tomorrow.
