Note the ASW and SC TFs in PH. They are not there for any threat (even tho ASW TF in major port is useful) but for training ships for esp. night experience. When you undock TF, they start to training exp. like they were travelling.

Note the ASW and SC TFs in PH. They are not there for any threat (even tho ASW TF in major port is useful) but for training ships for esp. night experience. When you undock TF, they start to training exp. like they were travelling.

They are traveling in that they can be anywhere in the 40 mile wide hex. I give them a patrol zone of that one hex just in case it makes any difference in the rate of experience gain - I have no anecdotal evidence one way or the other. It also might help with being ready to fight or detect the enemy.

REPAIRS:

Situation is generally OK but it will take 2+ months to restore Allied full capability for offensive actions.

They seem to train just fine without patrol orders, haven't experimented if it is better with patrol.

Akyab air kills are almost ridiculous, 74FS as example. 7 fighter squadrons (4 Hurricane, 3 P-40K) each have kills from about 300 to up to this. 3 US P-40K squadrons have 700+, 800+ and 900+ kills...

Looks like your Nanning troops should rest and wait for Liuchow to fall so that reinforcements can come to help. Liuchow also cuts the main supply line for Japanese troops at Nanning.

With my own supply problems, Nanning is no-go so far. But Liuchow looks promising indeed.

Some observations:

- IJA has mainly withdrawn from vicinity of Akyab (mainly 5th ID has withdrawn)

- Japanese air attack plane numbers in Akyab area have gone down, number of attacks still about same.

- Japanese air is not seen around Rabaul, leaving Allies with air supremacy. Very bad for IJN shipping.

I am seeing a lot of the Rabaul area shipping named xAKL P-# and very few xAKs anywhere. I think the AI is desperately creating small xAKLs to make up for the losses you have been inflicting turn after turn.

Nice work on that carrier raid in the Gilberts/Marshalls.
For a couple of bomb hits on your CV TF you sank a CL, some xAKs and small escorts and downed a lot of Bettys. Your carrier air group losses looked pretty minimal to me.
