Turn 5

Smolensk

Herd two more good experience(shown in soft factor) well equipped divisions left out front. Not exactly left out front but had to retreat a division that was in the 26 defense hex. Then it was easy. Time for cake!

Was able to get 152,000. Just barely keeping Soviets under control. :(

Turn 5

Reflections back

Jubjub has done very well retreating and distance. Only my own experience in the game has been able to net me surrounded units and then very minimally. I do feel that the strike through the VL area has caught Jubjub off guard with very token resistance. I have said it in the past and have said it in WITE1 I consider VL area to be of huge importance. And I believe this is showing in this game as well. Now that I am technically out of the "woods", if you will, should be much easier with terrain beneficial to me for attacking instead of "heavy woods"

Turn 6 and/or 7 is where the game gets real. All the posturing before is just that. Now the real "know how" of what to do makes the difference. No longer will Jubjub be able to trade much ground in front of Moscow. Moscow is my destination and the Soviets will have to fight and fight hard to keep me out.

Operation Typhoon begins TURN 6!!! (I have the turn but haven't stated it yet)

This pic is quite interesting as you managed to get Totenkopf from Tallinn to Smolensk so fast.

Just another note but kind of trivial nonesense but usefull on weighing an opponent. Pay attention to the Soft factor displayed when the turn comes back to you. The Program normally keeps the settings of the last opponent and every turn has come back with the CCP with Jubjub. Trivial information but useful. Also some other settings change too. Just trivial BS that has minor meaning. I know you think I am crazy but every little bit helps.

This is a good point. At one point in winter with my game against Dave, I turned the weather graphics off so I could see the map more clearly and left it that way. When Dave got his turn back in our game, he was trying to figure out where the winter went.

BOMBING!!!

This time I was ready for them... with 88's!!! One of many but only showing one photo.

I never ran out of targets but I ran out of ammo, lol. This turn shouldn't be a problem with 88 ammo though. We put in an order for HUGE ammount of 88 ammo

Air Losses

Here are the air losses. Almost all the Soviet air losses were from the bombing.

Notice the loss to flak. I literally ran out of 88 ammo, lol

Oh yeah almost forgot about this one. Rumanians get DEVASTATED. All you Ruskies should like that picture.

Like I said Jubjub is extremely aggressive. It is like putting your hand into a jar full of snakes knowing you are going to get bit.

I see possible Armor or Mech/Moto in the area I circled in blue. Yes, Smolensk looks to only have an Airborne in it also. What else?

Lots would attack up the open area along the dual track line I marked in Red would you not agree? That would create a half closed pocket since my Northern units aren't ready yet and I am kicking this off this turn instead of waiting another turn. Then would take a turn or two to clean it up. No, we want quick pockets that can't be broken. At least that is what I want.

What I see are a lot of Soviets defending little of value. He's badly out of position it would appear, but you cropped out what's up north.

Turn 6 (Real time Update)

My goal is more units for surrender and lock down other Soviets with ZOC so not easy to move. They can wiggle but not run.

Orange is where I want to go to cut off from North and South. 1st hex of each entry point is light woods.

Yellow is retreat locations for Soviets, I hope.

White is ZOC on Soviet units.

Hope to bag at least 5-8 Soviet Divisions and ZOC 7 of them.

I agree. I am just going to whittle him down a little then "hopefully" nothing he can do. I have a very small window though & may fail.

Yeah, lost some but I am so close to the front now MP's don't matter. Once Soviet Divisions are within the grasp of the German Foot soldiers it is the beginning of the end. I had no unit below 11 MP's. Armor were in the 30's.

Turn 6 (Real time update)

Now remember I said I believe the Armor/Mech/Moto are here for a reason circled in blue. I am sure they are set up in reserve movement to defend(I would). As such that is a key component to attack with certain units. What are those units? To only attack with German Moto Units. Why? So you don't lose tanks! Plus German Moto Division eat Soviet Armor/Mech up for tank losses. So I will bring up my Moto units, 3 stack to attack from the South marked in Green. They aren't fully rested but time is of an essence. I authorize the attack. Hopefully draw their reserve movement so the North units don't have to face a reserve movement if that makes sense.

Had to get rid of the Surrounded Soviets from last turn. Bring up two German Inf Division and Deliberate attack. I always try and Deliberate attack surrounded units since the deviance is small on the ones that get away ;-)

I have not assigned Artillery to this Corps yet.
