Playing on the latest public beta 01.01.07, server game. In my StB game against tyronec I noticed that the drop tanks are unavailable to my fighters until 1/1946? I can equip them in a SP game, though I'm quite sure I started the SP game on a previous version; before these public betas started.

I remember being able to change the fighter loadouts back on 01.01.02 though.

There were two rounds of changes re removing drop tanks from some aircraft, IIRC. Should ask Denniss as he's the person that has been making these changes.

DTs were disabled for most fighter-like aircraft except special cases like long range Rec/FB.
They were very rarely used in the East, this was a tactical battlefield with most air combats fought at low to med alt.
Bf 109E-7 and F-2 are the last to have them fully enabled but this will change soon.

Ok, I see. But does the same apply for the extra 2 20mm cannons?

Yes, majority of them was used on the western and italian front to attack heavy bombers.
