There are two question about combat calculation.
First, hight experience troop perform much more efficiency then the lower one, especially in winter. The artillery doesn't offer enough firepower on hight experience enemy's front. The image show the Soviet had huge fire support over Axis, the ratio of artillery is 7:1 with engough ammo(you can check the artillery unit's ammo through the images, the initial rifle division's ammo is 70%~100%). Even cosider the Soviet have only 60% of ammo need before 1944, it still retain over 3.6:1(85% average ammo for all unit) to 4.2:1(100% ammo), still much more powerful than defender(assume the Axis have 100% ammo, but actually they still short of ammo too). The outcome shows the Axis firepower are much higher frequency and accuracy than the attacker, 148 122mm M30 howitzers only hit 20 elements!(don't tell me that the artillery commander doesn't know mathematics). The Axis 21 105mm leFH18 howitzers hit 42 target which almost 10 times accuracy than Soviet. I found the calculation law is the low number defender usually have higher fire frequency. But I think it's wrong. If defender lack sufficient fire support, the forward position was fully covered by enemy's artillery, short range weapon can not perform hight accuracy and firing frequency especially over 400 yards. The attacker's howitzer should first suppress opponent's howitzer, and then follow the infantry's order to suppress the mortars, heavy machine guns, AT guns and so on. If you see the battle report, 122mm howitzers seems just fire 5 minutes and then leave to go home. The attacker's disrupted men are 10 times contrast to the defender. Please remember, the Soviet in this battle is not that guys in the movie <Enemy at the Gates> that offer two men with one rifle and five bullets. 272 VS 32 82mm mortars, 61 VS 11 infantry guns, 125 VS 40 AT guns, and 88 extra 76.2mm field guns and 10 times heavy machine gun/light mortars. These huge quantity suppressing fire doesn't show their role and change the balance of battle. The Axis have the same suppressing problem when attacking, but can avoid some disrupted due to the hight experience.
Secondary, some kinds of short range fire in battle can hit the large caliber gun. For example, the MG34 can hit the 122mm M30 howitzer at range 103~400 yards. That's absurd.
The calculation formula causes trouble in the understanding of the game, it semms like the battle is base on the outcome of single element's duel.

The key point for this topic is define how the heavy weapon play the role of fire suppression. No matter how well the defensive positions are arranged, the initiative of fire is always in the hands of the attacker. The formula should not only reflect the killing value of heavy weapons, but also reflect the suppression effect. The firing order of different small arms needs to be determined according to the suppression effect of heavy weapons.
