Went and saw "The Green Knight". Was rather pumped up, premiere actor, King Arthur's Court flick, medieval era. Did the full meal deal: lazy-boy recline seat, $9 popcorn with lots of hot melted butter/salt & $6 Pepsi mixed with Mountain Dew, lots of ice.

Worst movie I've seen in years. Walked out to the lobby after ~70 minutes to wait for me friends. If I would have remained, I may have snapped & torn down the big screen. I score this movie -1, mean I was going insane watching it.

Main character is an absolute skirt. Didn't understand it from the beginning, the Green Knight lets him log his head on Christmas Day in order to return the favor a year later. The movie felt like a real year later, no action. Dude wanders on his horse and is absolute clueless. His girlfriend, if it was a girl, was nasty. No hot babes. The Dude doesn't know if he's even an Knight, the gets kidnapped by two women and some turd character.

Anyone attempt to watch this crap flick?

I read a story saying critics absolutely loved it but actual audiences generally hated it. This I think is what I read. And I have not seen it. https://www.sfgate.com/streaming/article/the-green-knight-review-dev-patel-16352866.php

I wonder if some of these film critics are paid for positive reviews of these films and if so, then how much. Plus, how can I get into the scam.

This movie (well, lack of), is the most pathetic pile of worthlessness. I would like to meet somebody who actually thinks this was good. That person must be someone with real issues.

Maybe they were well paid.

That unshaven bum is some guy name Patel, not sure what Colonized Island he is from. Medieval dudes don't have to look like they slept at a Homeless Shelter.

The female character (I'm guessing) is short haired. Probably some of that She/MostlyShe/SometimesHe/FlipBackForth crowd.

I like my chicks hot, like Ann Margaret, Maureen O'Hara, Bo Derek, name it. Give me a Lady.

Like it or not, that is the way the original tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight goes. Except Sir Gawain is definitely a real knight, and one of the best of the Round Table.

My son and I saw it. He loved it. I thought the cinematography was great, but found the movie pretty boring and unintelligible.

What was his favorite part? I obviously didn't understand the movie.

As a kid, my favorite movies were:

1) The Omen
2) Deerhunter
3) 10

The Green Knight is definitely not for everyone. It's meditative, atmospheric, slow, artsy, and weird. This is 2 hours of dreamy ambiguity, a semi-post-modern mortality play on the nature of honor, courage, and living a lie vs. living in truth. The style of it kindof reminded me of Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey, a film that audiences also loved or hated.

I liked it for how it told a relatively simple story in such a grand, epic way. The whole goal of the movie was to make you fail at predicting what would happen. It did precisely that. The occult undertones and the shirk involved really tripped me out. I'm into movies that evoke emotion.

... If this doesn't make you feel a wide range of things, I'm sure there's a cookie cutter comedy playing in the theater as well.

That comes across as very condescending.

I liked it. But if you went in looking for Braveheart or some other sword and shield action then I can see why you'd be disappointed.

It doesn't work that way anymore. It's not about negative or positive, it's how many people read the review and thus generate income for the site. And I guess some critics just know what they are talking about. You're allowed to like garbage even if the critics don't, but that doesn't mean it isn't garbage.

When the dude gets tied up by the turd out in the field, I was so done with this. Okay, you wanna talk plot? First, what's the big deal about chopping of the head of the GN, when he lays his nugget down to you. The plot, okay, now it's my turn next year? Dumb. Main character is a lost soul. "Oh, what have I done, what must I do?". Well, don't play trade volunteer heads with a freaky GN. Lost soul syndrome, might be cool, for modern day people with 55+ genders, but not me. Movie is the worst. Someone mentioned 2001 Space Odyssey, yeah, that sux too. Never understood the draw of that. Only thing good from that flick, is music that Elvis used for introduction.

Green Knight rating negative 1. Yep, -1. I left my friend, waited in the lobby. I was fit to be tied.
