Found this YouTube AAR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s6IAMaYDTo to watch in between Ash vs KorutZelva AAR turns. I'm having trouble with Matrix upgrading to SCWWI gold, once that is accomplished I'll find out what it takes to get the version ASH & KorutZelva are using. In the meantime have been trying to learn about this game and the current campaigns. To me, the YouTube AAR is a great tool to get started with down the road to learn many of the mechanics of how the game operates. As far as I am concerned there is nothing that compares (in SP) to what can be experienced from a MP AAR, or competing in a MP match.

It's two different game. That whole upgrading business is just to get a copy of the old game on steam if you bought it from their previous publisher, you can't get the new game that way.

C'mon, pay the man!

Actually I have been considering buying the whole SC bundle that includes 3 games for $90. What I did not know: Was there an advantage to having SCWWI gold before buying the current version, such as a discount, an added feature such as additional scenarios that otherwise would have not been available, DLC, ect..? Would have hated to buy something then to find out later that I had missed out on some content rushing to make a buy and if at all possible to avoid Steam and it's constant updates, verifications, lastly their constant sales pitches for garbage having no interest in.

As of right now I do not know if the scenarios from Breakthrough are included in any deal, those scenarios were some of my favorites, not so much SCWWI itself. If you could enlighten me that would be appreciated.

huh... not that I know of.

Lots of the old classic (Prussia-France war, Balkan War, White-Soviet war) are not in the new version of the game. That's the only bit that leaves me wanting. These would have made great AARs.

Nice, thank you for the tip on that Youtube AAR! :D

I seem to remember a discount for owners of the classic games, but I dont know if that is still valid. Maybe Bill can answer this?

Funny, When I went to register my original game and expansion at Matrix there were two selections there that could be checked: One was for "SCWWI Classic" and another that was just plain "SCWWI", (no mention of "Breakthrough" at all, or bundle). I was a little confused as to which one to register my old game under, for my copy does not have "Classic" written on it. So tried registering my code one at a time under each title both had failed to register. Learned yesterday from KZ that registering my old versions had no bearing on getting the latest version, did not know this when I tried to upgrade. Even posted a thread over at "Matrix General Discussions" asking for help from the moderators there to help with registering (as of a few minutes ago no help has come forth). Of course I am interested in any deals that Matrix or SC has to offer to sweeten a transaction, so if Bill could make some clarity about that, that would be great..

SC WWI Classic is a repackaged version of our original SC WWI and Breakthrough! games from circa 2011. It was released by Matrix a few years ago, so I don't think that's the correct option in this instance.

It's therefore probable that the other option was correct, but if you're experiencing any issues I would recommend emailing support@matrixgames.com with the details, and hopefully they'll be able to sort them out for you.

Thanks Bill,

More than anything I just wanted to preserve what I have now to be on the record somewhere (Matrix) and as KZ pointed out scenarios such as Franco - Prussian ones I'd like to keep on Breakthrough for reference or research at a later date. The thought occurred to me of trying my Breakthrough code number as a way to crack the register mystery, will try it, if unsuccessful will use the support you suggested.

Hi all,

Just finished viewing the last episode of this AAR series after finally getting the game SCWWI today (except for the latest patch). This AAR had 27 (SP) episodes, all I found very entertaining and will add were made before the author's version was updated with the latest patch judging from the time the AAR was produced..
