Changes from above made. With reference points in Nicaragua I started the scenario zoomed in on Nicaragua.

Really!? I just spent an hour getting all my loadouts set for my stream tomorrow morning...

Setup all of my fighters for AAW initially. Figure if I have 24 hours after the ultimatum expires before the PLARF missiles are ready, that gives me some time to pound the NAF and PLAAF into the ground, giving me almost free reign to strike what I want after. Could be a massive miscalculation on my part.

Going to use my heavy bombers for the initial strikes, with followups being from fighters on the carriers.

The changes really shouldn't change the scenario play much. They are more evolutionarily than revolutionary!

What time are you streaming? I'd like to watch.

Kushan. So saw your set up stream and made a few notes for some corrections. Don't know why I thought remembered more electronic aircraft in the electronic squadron, but looked it up and my memory is faulty. Global Hawks have already been replaced with predator's. Will reduce the MH-60R squadron to 5 Helios. I have a love-hate relationship with realistic sub comms myself. Will turn it off. I was already thinking of loosing some E-3Gs and RC-135w as some would be deployed. Also I just called the Presidential Command E-4B at Joint Base Andrews Air Force One as I don't know it's code name.

I may not be able to edit the briefing as it is locking up when I try.

Hey if you end up making another edit, no need to make the thanks that glaring my dude. I mean I appreciate the note, but some small text at the bottom is more than enough thanks.

Finally getting to truly play it this weekend. Good times so far!

I like to acknowledge those who help me!!!!!

I just took care of the points Kushan04 brought up in the Set Up video, and something he said inspired me to set up another surprise. Unfortunately a bit too late for his video, but a neat wrinkle.

Last I heard, Tyndall AFB was projected to reopen for aircraft in Sept 2023. Unless there is another "Michael" that is!

I do like the idea of having Global Hawks but they may also not be needed with all of the other recon assets available. If you decide to keep them maybe station them at Creech AFB outside of Las Vegas?

I like the idea of realistic sub comms, but the AI isn't capable of doing any fancy approaches on its own at the moment.

Fair enough with the Presidential E-4B being AF1. Not honestly sure what its callsign would be. It should still be AF1 but because hes on NOAC it might be something else. Hope to never find out. That's all getting way to in the weeds then what I think is necessary here

Possibly, I haven't looked up Tyndall in awhile. I had originally heard it was going to be closed and i believe all of the F-22s that where based there have already been distributed to other squadrons.

Reasonable. Maybe two Global Hawks put in NV with some Predator's in Mexico, likely I'll halve those.

Made it to just short of the ultimatum expiring on stream. So far I have to say the world building is superb. Al you've always been great at that but this is a whole new level. I love the news transcriptions. They make me want to go try to find some of the broadcasts from 1986 and add them into El Dorado Canyon.

Watching Kushan's streaming, I had an idea on how to deploy a "Hostile" sub (or two) to the Caribbean/Gulf and have it make sense from a real world scenario.

Was looking at the DF-100 for unrelated reasons, its anti-ship capable. I suddenly feel less secure about my aircraft carriers...

May be a little hard to find the TV broadcast but I'll see what I can do. Aligns up with some other changes to the pre-attach warnings to Libya that I've been thinking about.

Not far off. How about a "good will tour" of South America (Venezuela) and the Caribbean (Cuba) with a Shang class SSN when things broke out.

Added a few new surprises since your broadcast/stream started based on some of what I saw/heard.

Love the scenario Al. Looking forward to playing it again, hopefully with some better planning on my part.

Couple of additional post stream thoughts.
1) Reduce the SSGNs tomahawk capacity to 1/2 - 3/4 max. Given the US tomahawk inventory I doubt they sail with a full load. A counter to that argument to be said that this close to CONUS, and for a situation like this, there might be an exception but for game play balance I think it makes sense to reduce it a little. I got really lucky on my mass launch taking out a number of the SAM FRC radars, but it also just ran a lot the PRC batteries out of missiles..

2) Increase the SAM magazine depths. Maybe add some supply trucks around the SAMs, with the supply trucks would contain the additional missiles. This would give the player the choice of either taking out the launchers or just having to take the ones on the launchers but take out their reloads; or dedicating weapons to take out both, thus depriving them of those weapons elsewhere.

3) Add some decoy DF-100s and maybe SAM launchers. The way Sharana did it in the BS300 live DLC was to take a normal unit and remove all the weapons from it, and in the case of SAMs had their radars on. If you do add them, I wouldn't mention them to the player. Let them find out the hard way. The one thing I wouldn't do that Sharana did in BS300 is put the decoys on a separate side. They should go on the main side (China in this case) that way the player has a harder time identifying them as decoys.

I tweaked the Magazines up and will look at the supply truck idea.

I thought about exactly this when you said it but I'm trying to figure out how to not have them impact scoring (a separate side does that but the player would figure that out). How to put out a TEL without it being worth points?

It's going to be a little annoying but make separate unit destroyed triggers for the real launchers. They can all be triggers for the same points event but because they are for specific units it should prevent the decoys from triggering the points event.

DUH, I was thinking about seeing if I could award points for destroying the DF-100s, but that would work! Back to basics!!!!!

Updated on 08-30-2021

Tweaked PRC WRA (SAMs) and Missions with a few more adjustments. I had the PRC SAM Ranges too short This adjusts that. Also tweaked the Mission Preferences (number of flights) for the AAW strike missions.

My pay test last night had a much tougher PRC opponent but still with US resources it's still along haul for the PRC, as the US has home field advantage!

Giving it another go. Where the fighters at Homestead AFB always there or did I just miss/forget about them during my stream play through?

One thing that might be helpful, add RPs for the Chinese ADIZ.

Yeah they've always been there.

Good idea on the ADIZ.

That was good. Enjoyed that. I'll try the updated scenario tomorrow probably. No major issues from me. I had it all done with about a day to go but played it out to see what would happen. I liked the messages that kept the story going.
A thought, Is there any way to to transport ammo to allow a resupply of forward based aircraft? I moved aircraft forward to have them ready to go but ran out of ammo for some aircraft and couldn't reload without sending them back to base.

A thought, Is there any way to to transport ammo to allow a resupply of forward based aircraft? I moved aircraft forward to have them ready to go but ran out of ammo for some aircraft and couldn't reload without sending them back to base.

Yes, but it would be a major pain using numerous Lua scripts. Originally it had unlimited Mags but that was an issue.

I'll probably post this one on Sunday 9/12, unless someone comes up with a major issue.
