Hi team

Are there any tips for improving game stability? With build [488] i am guaranteed to get a lock up after a few minutes play on any ofthe large scenarios ive tried. I can’t close COMMAND down via the task manager and have to do a full PC reboot to shut it down.

I’ve updated graphics driver and java.

Do i need to do a full reinstall of the game? Or wait for a new build?
If i do a full reinstall will i need to back up all the community database images and scenarios that ive accumulated?

ta

ok gone back to try some of the smaller scenarios, seem to work, perhaps its just the large ones causing issues.

[update] rinstalled game and repatched have build 480, every thing works again

Hello,

We've had reports of serious stability problems with B488 which is why we've taken down the download thread. Please accept our apologies for this.

Previous public releases (e.g. B484, B486) exhibit very good stability and we recommend them.

Can you put 486 back up. I might downgrade until fixed.

Got a new PC.

i9 cpu
M.2 SSD
64GB of ram
Win10
Running process lasso

I hate to say it but I’m still having issues with CMO crashing.

It also seems like it gets bogged down with the longer a scenario runs.

Are there any new tips or tricks anyone knows to get the PC to run the program better?

Thanks in advance!

I have actually found that running without process lasso is better for me on all my PCs. In the CMNAO days, I used process lasso religiously. But about two years ago I stopped and found the game does a much better job of managing loads across cores than I could ever do.

But I don't have an stability issues so it might not mean much.

Try clearing the message log.

Also, this probably should have been its own thread for dev racking the issue.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I’ll try playing without process lasso and I’ll periodically clear out that message log. (Is there a hot key combo for that?)

I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to start a new thread since I found this older thread with the similar topic I was researching.

Thanks again!

Not only that, but this is a seven year old thread. I would imagine a lots changed.

Hi Art.
To clear the log you can go "Game > Message Log > Clear". The shortcut is Cntl-M.

Deactivate auto-save.

Large scenarios can take a second or two to save, and auto-save is every 20seconds, so can cause some lag.
