I poked around the forum a bit, but couldn't find a search hit for scenarios covering only the war in China. Does anyone know if a China only scenario for WitP-AE has ever been put together by someone? Thanks.

A while back someone was talking about that. If I remember correctly it came down to the ground combat system not being that great and the fact that this is primarily a game based on naval and air warfare....GP

Also there hasnt been a massive amount of interest mostly people want scenarios where the you can ignore China !!

The AI is also at its weakest in continental warfare

I'm a newbie to this whole WITP AE scene. Are there mods that allow you to ignore China?

There are smaller scenarios that don't involve China or grand campaigns that try to have a quiet China. If you are new, try the corral sea and then the Guadalcanal scenarios....GP

The quiet China AIs have not been updated for so many years that i don't think that I can count them on all of my toes . . .

That's a safe bet since the Quiet China scenarios (7, 8, and 9) haven't been updated since 2010.

And it's not just "the AI". Andy also includes database fixes in his "AI updates" (these are NOT included in the executable patches), and none of those are present either. Playing "Quiet China" is a lose-lose proposition. Unless the Allied player has an OCD affliction, you can achieve a Quiet China result by simply ignoring all the units based there. Let the Japanese AI do what it wants (which isn't much), and it won't have a significant impact on your overall performance.

If you are playing against the AI then China isn't too big a fact. The AI will most just sit on it's hands unless you start doing things. At least that's my experience. If you are playing A PBEM you will need to work something out because China is pretty essential to IJ victory conditions. Although I fully understand not wanting to deal with China. It brings out the worst in the Ground combat system
