I used to live near Hell. Sadly the correct translation would be "slope".

Ha, Dutch has the word helling for that. What language is this Hell?

There is also the ancient word Hellweg for trade roads in the Germanic world (weg is road), but that hell goes back to Old-Germanic *heldiz (battle, fight), that developed into something analogous to 'the beaten path'. Germanic *hel is also related to Greek *kel (drive), which we know from Latin celer (speed, accelerate).

There is much more to words than just random surprise for monolinguals who stumble upon another language.

Is Hell is from the Greek, for Hades?

Believe the King James Bible uses the Lake of Fire.

He did not say anything about Grimm's books.

Please don't disparage people's beliefs here.

It is a Norwegian community so I presume that it is from a Norwegian language or dialect. From Hellir which means "overhang" or "cliff cave" where the fisherman could beach their boats and work on them which being protected from the weather.

It is from the Old English hel or helle. It is related to many Germanic words. It means a place of the underworld for the dead.

Happiness is found in a hobby store.

Paradise though is found in a bookstore.

Anywhere, just get anything that you are keen and interested. If you love gardening, then just explore it and you might get happiness.

So in that map, a "Bird in Hand" leads to Intercourse . . .

This did not make me happy. It made me sad because I saw MrsWargamer posted and thought she was back until I looked at the dates of the posts.

But if you are seeking happiness, there is one place you can go.

I miss her delightful posts also. It is a shame she was banned so soon, for in the new spirit of inclusion and diversity to ban her now would seem to fly in the face of the new mantra bestowed upon us.

Maybe one day another female war gamer will bestow us with her insight and be included rather than excluded.

In all fairness, she was banned for going against the forum rules, and after a warning not all of sudden. She was not treated differently than any other forum user.

Having said that, I was sad to see her go. She had been part of this community since forever. Then, in the space of a few months, she started to behave strangely. I still maintain that this damned virus is causing unwelcome levels of mental health stress even if you don't get it (phenomena like alcoholism and domestic violence are up). I have a friend who is a bigwig neuropsychiatrist and I always tell him "We all are experiencing COVID - not only those who get it". He agrees. He told me that one day he could write a book about the "war stories" that he happened to experience during the pandemic.

So there was chick, that was cool? Was she real chick from birth? What games she play? Was she hot?

I dated Dev from Stronghold Crusaders or something decade ago. She was a bore, in all aspects.

There was one young German lady on the WITP:AE forum but she has not posted in a few years after an earlier hiatus after she had an abdominal parasite. Who know, maybe she had another parasite and is not too busy to post. This nice lady even posted on the Australian Beauties thread.

my lord, that looks like the most disgusting burger I've ever seen. and as late as yesterday I ended up throwing a McDonald's one in the trash. This one I wouldn't even bring home in the first place. Yuck, how utterly unappealing that looks!
