Over the last year there's been a few folks asking for an EF version of the 3d mod I shared for ME.
Finally got around to cleaning it up some. Here it is for those who need another mod!

I try yesterday to install the mod without luck
I downloaded the files put it in the mod folder and install the mod
but nothing change, are there some hints or advice

If you use the MODS folder that ships with JTCS 2.02, you'd need to create an "East Front" folder under the mod name, and to move the content there:

^^ 3DMausManModExtra could (should) be made a separate MODS subfolder as well, and to have its content placed similarly into "East Front" subfolder within. Then, those mods could be activated and deactivated with JSGME as well.

In other words, you'd have these two new mod folders within MODS

  • EF 110517 MausMan Graphics
  • 3DMausManModExtra

    Both would have the actual content in a \East Front\* subfolder.

    yep, thanks Crossroads. That's likely the better way to package it. -was thinking it would be a bit overkill to make a mod of a mod.

    Well, hopefully the ME2.0 experience helps with converting this to EF III.

    JTCS East Front utilises default regions/biomes for Eastern Europe and Eurasia, while with EF III there's going to be Western Europe tiles for western most Polish areas especially.

    But once you get that far let us have a chat, defaults hopefully will go a long way, then a matter of "just" adding buildings that match the region. Biome related tiles would be more adaptable from region to another, I'd think.

    Okay, so after some experimentation, I've been able to get this mod into WF for scenarios set in NW Europe. Make a copy of the mod and follow Crossroads' instructions above for JSGME but name the additional folder "West Front" as opposed to "East Front".

    Inside the mod's West Front folder find:

    Blocked3d.bmp
    Blocked4d.bmp
    Blocked5d.bmp

    make copies of each and paste them into the same folder. rename them to:

    Nwe-Blocked3d.bmp
    Nwe-Blocked4d.bmp
    Nwe-Blocked5d.bmp

    Then inside the 3DMausManModExtra folder find the files that have "western" in them and make copies of those. Then rename the copies by adding the "Nwe-" prefix and deleting the "western" part. You then should have:

    Nwe-SnowTerrain3d.bmp
    Nwe-SnowTerrain4d.bmp
    Nwe-SnowTerrain5d.bmp
    Nwe-Terrain3d.bmp
    Nwe-Terrain4d.bmp
    Nwe-Terrain5d.bmp

    Now move those into the main mod's West Front folder. You can then enable the mod and it will be good to go. You'll want to disable it for any scenarios not set in NW Eurpoe as it overwites some terrain files but not all so it the other zones will look strange.

    Ok,
    Rising Sun 3D graphics map mod has been uploaded to try out. Just download RS 3D MausMan Graphics.zip
    unzip into your JSGME MOD folder and you should have 'RS 3D MausMan Graphics' mod to activate.
    The main thing here was to get something for Tropical (brown, green, mud) maps. The other biomes are minimal and copied over for the most part from the other mods.
    -should be able to add comments on the drive location if you see something that really needs a fix.

    ** posted replacements for WF and RS on 11/6/21 for better desert 3d map.

    Hey Crossroads! doing find, doing fine here. Looks like back to this project after sleeping a couple years.

    Good to have you back, you Sleeping Beauty you! A few changes with 3D tiles for the coming CS Vietnam, and thus for CS Middle East 3.0 too. We have now our release date for January 2022, I will have a list of changes available for you in case the RS graphics would be a close fit to Nam jungles, too!
