The s.I.G. 33 and its use also represent an absolute special feature: The gun is the world's heaviest infantry support weapon, which is also used by the infantry as the 13th Company (Infantry Gun Company) in an inf Anterieregiment was incorporated. It was built with a short riveted box carriage, two spring equalizers were attached to the left and right of the box spar. It carried a split shield that provided sufficient protection for the operator. The gun could be used indirectly (main use), but also directly. The explosive bullet had a mass of 38 kg. In the course of the war, an overcalibrated hollow charge grenade was developed for tank combat. There were the motorized variants:

33, without Sd.Kfz.-Nr. - 15 cm s.I.G. 33 (SF) on Panzer II, without Sd.Kfz.-Nr.
- Sturm-s.I.G.: 15 cm s.I.G. (SF) on Panzer III, without Sd.Kfz.-Nr.
