ORIGINAL: rustysi Not quite, but its gettin' there. The house I mean. What, about five weeks to being done? Good guess, rusty. 6 weeks from yesterday. When you say "Closing Day" (which in my world means the date the contract deal is signed), does that mean possession date? And are you starting your move at that point? BB, you are correct that "Closing Day" is the day the deal is closed and the contract is signed. We should get possession as soon as the paperwork is filed with the County Clerk's Office....hopefully later Monday afternoon, as we meet to sign at noon. In case there are any hang ups or small delays, we are not planning to have access to the house until Tuesday. I have our refrigerator scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday, and will schedule the internet service hookup at the house for that day. We are planning to actually move on Wednesday, but will take some of our stuff and the cats over Tuesday evening. One night in the new house on an inflatable mattress before the rest is moved in the truck on Wednesday. The experts list moving as one of the highest stress things a person does in life, but you have had time to get it nicely organized and a joyful experience at the end of the job. I wish you sunshine and cool, light winds for your move!
