This is again a dual question as I was facing it with the road to Leningrad and the road to Messina. (dual meaning applies to WITW and WITE2) The defender has decent units (maybe some fort level), decent command, decent terrain, defender's natural advantage, and reserves 6 hexes deep. Yes, I can fly AD's very narrowly either interdict or unit, and GS, have SUs available, and my own reserve units, and DB attack. Still it can be hard and frustrating breaking a choke point. I have tried the tricks I know. Sometimes repeated hammering does help, other times it replicates the stupidity of The Somme. I don't know that I have enough MP to DB ATK and rotate stacks to try to put up a more sustained pounding. Going around is so circuitous that it is hard to see an advantage given the ticking clock. Also, I don't see a way to create an isolation situation either. Expertise? Thanks.
