I noticed that attrition had destroyed my cargo fleet in the Caspian sea. So I ran the game solo with no combat checking the number of ships lost. On all the other fleets the number of cargo ships went up as the game went on.Despite the fact that replacements where obviously arriving each month the Caspian sea went down until it was down to 5 in November. It has struct me that since Caspian Flotilla was probably safest place to be in the USSR.That there might reasonably be a mechanism to restrict attrition for thees ships, and it is working in revers.

I think that's the normal wear and tear of ships... even though it seems a bit exaggerated to me. Did the Soviets really lose that many ships in the Capsian sea?

It is supposed to represent wear and tear. However, I agree, that the Caspian Sea should be considered Soviet controlled until the Germans capture a port. I will add an item to our list to do that, but I can't say when that might get added (depends on how easy it turns out to be).

The same issues plagues the Baltic if Leningrad falls. What should be an Axis lake suffers such heavy ship losses that Leningrad kann not serve as a sea Supply Hub.

The answer is no. The Caspian Flotilla and later Volga-Caspian Military Flotilla played a important role in the battle of Stalingrad where about 40 river steamers where sunk (the Soviets had about 1500 on the Volga). But as far as I can make out the number of ships lost in the Caspian Sea not note worthy. And Most certainly not one a week.

These do represent wear and tear damage to ships and need to refit, but agree that losses are higher than they should be.
