I think the picture and the title is pretty self explanatory. This is an addon to my previous cold war post, been awhile since then. Lotta progress however. This is the data I could best come up with. However I would like to clarify one thing in this post. In the status comparison section the Soviets do not have a working up section. This was because many of their subs were rushed into service during the late months for propaganda purposes. So I put any sub that was under construction or actually working up both underneath "under construction". Essentially this means the under construction is over inflated for the Soviet Union. It says 6% for under construction but this is for both under construction and working up. Along with this is the active section, as I said this is for December 1979 // January so some Soviet subs were rushed into service and are currently underneath the active section, probably making this section slight bit inflated. One final thing, this only includes long deployments and does not count routine patrols. This is all private research I have been doing so it is not the best, but it is the best I have been able to come up with. I just thought seeing comparrisons between the 2 largest submarine forces was pretty cool and thought yall would like to see it too. Anyways next post will probably be Naval Air Arm comparrisons between the 2 airforces, should be rather interesting I think. I am almost done with it too. Just gotta finish working out Soviet transport / ASW helicopter squadron counts, which has been a pain but I am making progress.
