I assume you are thinking of updating WITW and/or doing a War in Europe combination. And I very much want that to happen. I own WITW and WITP AE and will get WITE2 soon.

What I envision after the WITW upgrade is a link of WITE2, WITW2 and WITP AE. Instead of a set schedule of arrivals and departures it would be up to the discretion of the player(s). For example, if the British sink the Bismark and Tripitz early they could send more naval forces to the Pacific. The war in the Atlantic would influence how many transports could be sent to the pacific. The Soviet player could attack Japan earlier or Japan could attack the Soviets in 1941. Japan and Germany could link near India. Where to allocate resources would be an difficult question with many good options available.

Diplomacy could be very interesting with one player for every major power.

A major problem would be weekly turns. For a naval game I don't think that would work well. But the WITP AE team could still send forces back and forth with Europe.

Thank you to the Grigsby team for many enjoyable hours of play.

There could be a hybrid where the naval elements (and maybe the air) have daily turns, and every seventh turn the land elements supply/move/fight etc. It would be amazing to be able to 'declare an operation' (Case White, Sealion, Husky, Overlord, Bagration, Market Garden etc) and run those units daily, maybe even on a zoomed map. But very complex, it all depends on how the engine can scale.

One this WITE2 does nicely is optionally AI parts of the game like supply and the air campaign. If GG's War in Europe could do that with theatres as well you have a game that can be as detailed or general as you wish.

Good Point. In addition, if you updated WITP AE with the new databases from WITE2 that would be a huge improvement.

Another possibility is scenarios in WITP AE that would treat China, Manchuria and the Soviet Union as theater boxes. This would reduce the time commitment and make the game more naval and air oriented.

That's a very good idea. In all the games, the ability to focus on the theatre/medium (land, sea, air, logistics) you want and automate the rest (in any combination) would be genius. WITE2 shows how it would work.

Well WITP AE is from their former engine so I don’t see a WW2 game happening. What you may see is War in Europe game combining Witw and Wite2. There had been some discussions about that in the past, although I don’t know what the current plan is.

On Witw2, it would be nice, but I don’t know how much consumer interest there is. I have also been going between the two and I don’t see what could be improved. The two game are very similar, combat, Air, movement, production, management is basically the same. Logistics is simpler in Witw, but it was not as much an issue in the west as in the east. The only missing feature IMHO is the Combat prep concept.

Maybe a WITW update to include the AIs for air and logistics? Not a new game but a paid-for DLC. Though I'd rather see the effort put into WiEurope.

WITW also suffers from the scale issue of div/weekly doesn't suit its small high-complexity battles, even whole campaigns are just a few turns apart from the Phoney war (zzz...) and the 1944/1945 west wall, again a few small key battles with a lot of sitting around. Thus the idea of a brigade/daily zoom mode, but I'm not underestimating the coding challenges.

Well on WITW, I agree that on an operational level, having daily turns, large maps would make sense, but for simulating the whole war from 43 to 45, it feels right the way it is now. I have all the games from the original WITP to WITE2, but at one point micromanaging all the units, even with AI help becomes too much of a chore. WITW is at the right sweet spot IMHO, you rarely have to manage that many units in any one turn.

Before adding WITE2 with WITW to have WIE (Europe), I would very much like to see first a WITP AE Next Generation for modern computers.

Also, adding WITE2 + WITW + WITP AE NG will be indeed the monster of the monster. But, good news, it already exists. This is WAWAWD.
And, another good news, this fun game is back.
