I did the operation Broken Shield scenario and I could not get aircraft to assign to a ground target with F-1.
The aircraft do get the status: Engaged Offensive but fly straight, do not change course and do not attack anything.
Also with CTRL + F1 and assigning a target instead of a BOL location did not produce results.

I thought it was connected with the Broken Shield scenario, but the attached save has the same.
Built 1147.35
Database DB3000 v491

EDIT:
I now see that Ignore plotted course when attacking was set on No, and now it works as advertised..
Never realized that even if aircraft are unassigned and had no course (circling) the ignore plotted course also needs to be set on Yes..
But the problem is solved.
