If I have a unit, a Feldersatz in Bastogne for example, that is under direct control of the Corps when I call it up from reserves - can I transfer it to a division or is it locked to the Corps?

you can transfert all units you want to any HQ for free. Very convenient.

You can also transfer those staff troops from Feldersatz battalion to any HQ that needs them, as they are useless in combat
And you can transfer sensible combat troops (VG and pioneers) to other infantry units and use Feldersatz as road blockade or something like that :-)

You can micromanage units for creating more sensible compositions.

Example of 5. Fallschirmjager Division

There are regimental artillery with both 120mm mortars (range 5) and 105mm guns (range 8) and divisional artillery regiment with the same mix. So I've removed all 120mm mortars from divisional artillery putting them to regimental and removed all guns from regimental putting them to divisional. After this I have different ranged units in different regiments and all of them have unified compositions.
The only problem is I can't add AT guns from mortar regiments to infantry regiments and those guns within mortar units are useless.

Q-if you select the replacements card, do those troops get funneled automatically by the Hq its sent to units in the field, or do I have to do that?

True enough but you have to watch your divisional staff/troop ratios. Don't want that number dropping below one.

Troops arrives at HQ automatically right after card. Next turn they are sent to units.
