One of Bernadette's cavalry divisions was detached, and about 20 hexes away from Bernadette. I ordered the cavalry to re-attach, expecting it to then follow the current orders for the Corps, as soon as it received the order.

However, that turn the Bernadette counter (ie Bernadette and his staff) took off towards the cavalry's position. The rest of the corps stayed where it was. Next turn the same.

So I backtracked a couple of turns and sent the orders, this time not holding off on the re-attach until the cavalry had arrived back at the corps.

Known issue or WAD?

Bessieres cavalry pursued the Austrians north, and an engagement occured 15000 cavalry vs 10000 inf, Bessieres with a 'probe' order. The battle ended inconclusively, but with a withdrawal across the river to the north by the Austrians.

Bessieres force is exhausted and must go on a withdraw order while Lannes and Massena's corps move up.

It is a known issue and has been reported, as I experienced it when doing the earlier AARs. The corps commander seems to be trying to keep contact with all his units and, like a sheep dog, goes off after his lost sheep. The solution is as advised, keep the lone unit under detached orders, until it is close to the rest of the corps, then reattach.
