Okay, I'm doing a restart and before I did anything else I set all the bombers on CS and all the fighters on AS, and all the fighters are on three-dots and that's because of the major disparity between the proficiency of the units involved and the quality of the Axis aircraft compared with the Soviet biplanes. IIRC the early Me-109A/E's were the primere fighter planes of all the air forces of the world. I feel the three-dots stance is justified even if it ocassionally costs slightly higher losses than a two-dots stance would encur.

I have depicted where I chose to attempt a landing for my paratroops, all of which were sucessful, in an attempt to thwart the exit of Soviet units from the killing fields. The placing of my paratroops isn't quite perfect however since there's still a road available for the Soviets to try to hold the Axis forces at bay long enough for at least most of the threatened units can flee eastward at high relative speed. I have depicted this hole in green.

The purple arc represents what I judge to be the probable extent of the Axis drive to the SW to attempt to trap the Soviet units before they get away. I'd like to liquidate as many as possible. If I can somehow get one of my longer range recon units to go further than that, that would be a bonus. After having moved OKH to just behind the lines, the paratroops are the next units to move according to the OOB. I do intend to try to document this game a lot better than my previous AAR's.

Did you fiddle with Soviet RR repair capacity for the restart?

It's T3 and I'm approaching Minsk aleady. Years of practicing the early turn has given me ideas about where to go and where the Soviets are likely to be and what to do next. It's almost unfair to the Soviets. But it is what it is.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the development team has produced a new version and it needs to be tested before being released into the wild. I'm the one to test that bad boy so this AAR will come to an abrupt end. I'm posting about my test on the development board with the hope that they will eventually move it to the public board.
